i been trying for a couple of days now  to figure out how to update my email address that was used as default from the EA account. i went through a bunch of trouble fixing this on the EA support side and thats now taken care of however i still have the problem of my old email, i no longer use, being used for my bioware profile account. how can i change this so it has the CORRECT EA persona account information? little pissed by the auto default of using my EA persona and auto using my email address, since its wrong and i now have to go through all this bull. i just want to change my email and still be able to use my screen name cause its my gamertag. thanx for any and all answers, that includes the ones where people post look it up myself, and yada yada yada. thanx.

  • You registered a BioWare account using the 360 Gamertag option, with a Gamertag that has previously been linked to an EA account.
  • You went to the EA profile page, the same one the FAQ in the bottom right links to under this topic, and updated your e-mail address.
  • The change is not showing up on your BioWare account.
Is this correct? If so, try relogging here (username first, then new e-mail address if that doesn't work). If not, I'm afraid I don't understand your problem.

this is correct.

You went to the EA profile page, the same one the FAQ in the bottom right links to under this topic, and updated your e-mail address.

this is also correct however i'm still having the problem of an old email account being the master account and i cannot change this at all, there is no option to change this from being a master account.

The change is not showing up on your BioWare account.

and yes, the old email is still being used with the gamertag that i linked with my ea account however that ea account is no longer being used and i went through the hassle of having the gamertag moved to a new ea account and all that shows up under the new email is correct however i have the problem of logging in using my new ea account and my old email is being used instead of the new one.

funny thing is when i go to the ea account manager my email is correct. its just on the bioware side the email that was used by default is wrong. in short bioware site is using the wrong email from my EA account. and everything on the EA side is correct.

This is a forum, not a live chat.

Your problem is somewhat different from what you originally described, if I understand your reply correctly. Moving a Gamertag is not at all like changing the e-mail address. The BioWare account is linked to the EA account through e-mail address, not Gamertag. Creating a new EA account (and moving the Gamertag) thusly has no effect on the BIoWare account. Unfortunately, you have pretty much shot yourself in the foot by now: you can no longer go to your EA account and change the e-mail address (which is otherwise very easy) because the address you want to use has been taken by another profile also owned by you; and, as you observed, you cannot tell your BioWare account to pick a different master account.

There is no immediate or easy fix to this. Some users report having contacted EA support and successfully had multiple EA accounts merged, others report trying and being told that isn't possible. If you have redeemed any codes, however, at the very least EA is able to move promotions between accounts.

i was doing alot of searching around and the emails that are linked to my bioware account are screwy. newsletters are showing the correct email from the bioware side and my EA persona account info shows all correct information. all i can say is, this is a real headache for me and i'm just going to have to get over it. just really bugs me that i have no power over information i care to use, or no longer want to use this being my case. thanx snoteye for helping.

p.s.
i know this is a forum, i'm a 26 yr old combat vet. i think i know the difference between a live chat and a forum. but anyway thank you for taking the time to help me.
