Bah, don't want to turn this thread into a ending moanfest. Let's just say was looking forward to starting one more playthrough in a few days before I saw what I saw. Now? Can't muster the courage, atleast for the moment.
did you have the Extended Cut downloaded? If not i suggest you download (it doesnt make the endings too much better, but its still better than the vanilla endings)

I did but still struggling to cope with the turn of events after Anderson's death. Just..horrible stuff, for a character and universe I came to love so much. Sorry if I sound too melodramatic <_<
Haven't seen em yet, but have to wonder how worse the originals must've been for this to be better.

Basically the original endings were kind of like the ending of Lost. Too many questions and almost no answers... <_<Propelled Rage wrote...

there's no epilogue. The endings finish when joker and crew come out of the normandy. Also some of the scenes of the crucible and hackett werent present, there was less dialogue with starbrat, no memorial scene, no normandy evac during the beam run, mass relays were all destroyed as well as all technology, and the scenes of krogan and asari celebrating were also not present.

You mean that cutscene when he comes out with the LI or EDI if synthesis is chosen? That was that? Gawd, can't even imagine what that would've been like to everyone. Atleast the epilogue tries to explain stuff. How successful it is in that is another matter -__- But I'm probably going on a track I said I didn't want to go in this thread, so I'll shut up.

It was a gift I got a few weeks ago. I'm a huge Dragon Age fan, so I'd obviously heard of ME - but from what little I knew, it never really seemed like my cup of tea. But I had it now so I figured I'd give it a shot. And I made a concerted effort not to spoil myself on any of the plots or decisions. The only thing I googled was how to play the hacking mini-games (there's no real instruction, and are tricky on the PC) and how to use the galaxy map.
The final result... I'm torn.
I liked the combat and felt it steadily improved over the games. The hacking-games I certainly did not miss by the time we got to ME3. The exploration in ME1 was interesting for a while, but admittedly got pretty tedious as the game wore on. I liked the control of the Hammerhead more in ME2, but the damn thing was made out of porcelain...
I think it took me until ME3 before I really started caring about Shepard. Through most of it, it never really felt like "my" character. I'm not sure I can really put a finger on where the disconnect was. I liked ME3 the most, but the pace (millions are dying *every* *minute*) kinda took some of the enjoyment away from the quieter moments (like the awesome Citadel DLC).
I liked the crew well enough in all the games. Overall I felt they were a good bunch, but most of them I never really had strong opinions about. I feel that the character "connections" were stronger in DA and felt a closer attachment to the Warden and Hawke than I did to Shepard. But the Citadel DLC helped the game a lot I felt.
That said, the ending was a tough one and by that point was actually caring what happened to "my" Shepard. After making my depressing choice I looked online to see if there was a... less despressing choice. Only to find - they all kinda suck. Just in different ways. And I think that's what is going to be the biggest hurtle to playing it again.

Oh, and Don't bother to ask how many times I've played thru ME1, because I've lost count.

For the passed two days, I have been playing Multiplayer. I'm continuing to play Multiplayer today. Tomorrow, it's go time. I'm completing Mass Effect 3--for the fourth time--tomorrow. I'm still going to play a tiny bit of Multiplayer between Priority: Cerberus Headquarters, and Priority: Earth for one final push for the 100% Readiness Rating.
Right now my Military Strength, both "Total," and "Effective:"
I used to avoid multiplayer, but after getting the hang of it, I have to say I can see why people love to kill so much time in it. For sake of the story progression in SP, I usually avoid the geth after finishing Rannoch, and don't even bother with the Collectors, and I never do Cerberus on any Earth locations, because it just seems kind of silly that they'd be there.

Bioware, could you tell EA that the Origin is a piece of **** carbage? This isn't the first time it has done this to me and it really pisses me off to have to download a game and all the DLCs again. Atleast make an auto download feature that downloads and installs everything automaticly. [/RANT]
Oh, the few minutes I got to play with my Adept Shepard were insanely awesome! The combat music is beast and it's so much fun to wreak havoc with Liara and Tali.
EDIT: Forgot that once I rage-quit with ME2, I started to grind ME3 mp.

Ah, join the club mate. I too finished it a few days ago and going through the exact same emotions. The OST didn't helped and is still buzzing in my head. I'm sure I'll play it again, just don't know when, cannot even look at my ps3 at the moment.

It just seemed like a long way to go just to wind up in an unhappy place.
