SR4 was great fun that has better writing then Bioware(kinda funny and sad)

house pls

I know people are bitter, but that's just not true.

LOL, yeah. SR4 gets bonus points for all the fun parodies though. I think my favourite was the MGS parody mission.

Saints of Rage was better :P

Saints of Rage had hella good music.

They should make a full game of that.

The writing for ME3 varied wildly from quite good to absolutely terrible, with the worst-written parts generally being the most plot-relevant sections for which one would think the writing would be the most important.

The writing for SR4, however, was consistently good throughout.

So yes, SR4 wins.

Pretty much. Also the cast of characters was way better.  Kinzie, Fun Shaundi, Miller, Zinyak. I can go on. Also Laura Bailey.

I saw a short video of that. I swear to Zeus if they turned that into a full-fledged game I'd buy the sh*t out of that. I loved Streets of Rage as a kid.

Indeed, LauraBoss was a much better protagonist than Shepard.

Talking down to people as usual, David. Does it make you feel powerful?

Some people just think hating on ME 3 makes them "cool".  Bottom line is that it was one of the best games of 2012 and I stand by that.  Come at me haters.  Friggin sociopathic gaming hipsters that are mad that they didn't get to join Cerberus in ME 3.

Yeah. Damn those haters! People shouldn't be allowed to express an opinion about ME3 unless it's a positive one.

And I would have no problem with people expressing their opinions, even if they are egregiously false. The problem is that the haters have no interest in expressing an opinion. They're just trying to score points in a stupid debate that's been going on for the past 18 months. It's kinda obvious really, that's why it's always "no it's just bad" rather than "i dislike it". One is an opinion, the other is trying to state an opinion as though it were a fact. If they would use the latter then I could respond "but I like it, and here are my reasons why", and then a rational dialogue could be formed. But the haters don't want a rational dialogue, if that ever happened people  on bsn might start thinking that liking the game is a reasonable opinion.

There is a certain irony that you argue this when one of the quotes from the "non-haters" refers to a the "haters as "Friggin sociopathic gaming hipsters" in order to form a rational debate.

To underline the word sociopath or sociopathy suggests and puts us in the same group as highly disreputable people such as serial killers. At the very least it suggests we have a severe personality disorder which would induct us to be institutionalized. A fine way to create rational discussion

Its time to face the reality that both sides have been rational, and both sides have been reasonable. Anything else is a an ad-hominen fallacy.

Ad hominem is only applicable if I'm trying to refute your argument, which I'm not. I'm just describing you (must be uncomfortable I know). And I can assure you that rational and reasonable are not words that apply to any of the discussions on this forum, nor have they for quite some time. Though I admit that people on both sides (why does there have to be sides again? Oh right because it's nothing more than a retarded debate here anymore)can be just as bad.

My take on it is this... Who cares? Why should I, or anybody, care if you don't like it? Or vice versa. Especially when you've been going on a bout the same thing for the last 18 months. Talk about something else already, it's getting boring.

A description of me is ad-hominem because it uses my association of my personal standing with what I say in the forum. Logic concludes by attacking my character (or a groups in this case "haters") people reading it would conclude that it is attempt to beseech character in order to tarnish the argument.
There is just no way around it. It applies. For example (extremely simplified) I just stated the world is flat, which you follow with "you are an idiot". Technically the argument isn't refuted but the attack on the character is an attack on the argument.

There are sides not because the debate is "retarded" (perhaps a little more respect for the debate would allow you to enjoy it more) but because you used the phrase "haters" artificially creating the sides within the argument. By using the term you created an us (the reasonable, over it, ITS BEEN 18 months people) vs them (the sociopaths (not you), the "boring", basically the lesser.)

Honestly I disagree that this forum is that bad. This mantra that bsn is somehow worse than other forums is exaggerated and simply a way to dismiss opinions.

And you don't seem to appreciate is that my 'attacking' has nothing to do with your argument whatsoever. I'll make a counter example. If two people are squabbling and a third party tells them "hey knock it off you're acting like children". Is that an ad hominem?

I don't think it is. It's not an attempt to associate or attack their argument. It's simply asking them to shut up. It had nothing to do with the content of the argument at all.

As amusing as that catchphrase is, it's pretty dumb.

The fact is it's a valid comaint. If someone had been whining in your ear for that long would you be out of line if you asked them to stop?

No one is whining in your ear,you can leave if you wish, but you choose to stay and listen to the whining.

Fine then, if someones constantly whining across the room from you, or at a place you go to hang out. The logic's the same and I dont think it's out of line to tell them to pull their head in.

Yeah, you shouldn't take it so personally, as if it's directed towards you.

That said, I can understand why you don't like it. I don't see why such a recreational/fun subject can get so hostile. I understand the occassional fight, but the proportion of fighting to discussion is out of whack. I feel like it's 20 years back sometimes and I'm in middle school, and I have to worry about someone coming around each corner who wants to start a fist fight. It's hard to predict what's going to ****** people off anymore.. it could be anything. I bet I could make a thread about what kind of Sushi they sell in that Citadel restaurant, and it'll turn into a flamefest in no time. :D

It's a public space, where anyone who have a registered game can post any comment so long as it not break the forum rules.
You might find it annoying, but deal with it.

I really appreciate the levelness of your tone there SM, thanks. Was starting to feel like I was coming under fire just for trying to play peacekeeper. You're absolutely right that i shouldn't let it get under my skin. Usually I don't.

I'm going to preface this part by saying that I am aware of the hypocrisy, given how i just derailed this thread...

I just hate how it's practically impossible to discuss the story and campaign in the story and campaign discussion forum. Every thread gets derailed into whether or not you hate ME3. It should be called the "whether I hate/dont hate ME3 discussion forum. That's all we ever talk about.

Nothing... Haven't played ME in months. I keep trying, but then remember ME3 and think "What's the point? It' all ignored and pointless in the end", and it goes back on the shelf.
