The writing for ME3 varied wildly from quite good to absolutely terrible, with the worst-written parts generally being the most plot-relevant sections for which one would think the writing would be the most important.

The writing for SR4, however, was consistently good throughout.

So yes, SR4 wins.

Saints Row 4 was boss. Zinyak, great villain, as always the best ones have an English accent. And a good singing voice, beat that Star brat!

And you don't seem to appreciate is that my 'attacking' has nothing to do with your argument whatsoever. I'll make a counter example. If two people are squabbling and a third party tells them "hey knock it off you're acting like children". Is that an ad hominem?

I don't think it is. It's not an attempt to associate or attack their argument. It's simply asking them to shut up. It had nothing to do with the content of the argument at all.

Well to use your example, in the case of two people squabbling you refer to one as a "hater" implying the negative connotations onto that person and his/her argument. Your saying one is wrong NOW shut up.
That is the difference.
That said if all your contributing the conversation is "stop talking about it", well that a waste of everyones time.

I killed Udina. Ashley took my side, didn't take much convincing. I was planning on to tell her I didn't want her on the Normandy but in the end I let her come aboard.

Some people just think hating on ME 3 makes them "cool".  Bottom line is that it was one of the best games of 2012 and I stand by that.  Come at me haters.  Friggin sociopathic gaming hipsters that are mad that they didn't get to join Cerberus in ME 3.

Yeah. Damn those haters! People shouldn't be allowed to express an opinion about ME3 unless it's a positive one.

And I would have no problem with people expressing their opinions, even if they are egregiously false. The problem is that the haters have no interest in expressing an opinion. They're just trying to score points in a stupid debate that's been going on for the past 18 months. It's kinda obvious really, that's why it's always "no it's just bad" rather than "i dislike it". One is an opinion, the other is trying to state an opinion as though it were a fact. If they would use the latter then I could respond "but I like it, and here are my reasons why", and then a rational dialogue could be formed. But the haters don't want a rational dialogue, if that ever happened people  on bsn might start thinking that liking the game is a reasonable opinion.

There is no reasoning with these haters.  They pass their "opinions" off as undisputable facts.  Not to mention this thread didn't even ask them for their opinion of the game.  The thread is "What did you do today in the Mass Effect trilogy?"  It isn't "what is your opinion of the ME games" or "what did you do in a game completely unrelated to ME?"

Hmmm what did I do today...I've done so much the past couple of days I don't remember what I did what day haha. I think so far I went into a derelict reaper to take its friend or foe tag. I met a geth and saved him from getting vaporized when the reaper fell into a star. I helped tali get proven innocent in a trial against her, and kept her dad's honor in the process. Earlier I helped my LI liara kill a yahg, who just so happened to be the shadow broker, making liara the new shadow broker in the process. Then I invited her up to my room for some alone time. Now I am planning on helping my new geth friend take care of a virus created by the heretic geth. After that, it's saving the world by destroying the collector base!

Going to head back into the ME games pretty soon since I am getting tired of GTA. Just wondering what bonuses I should pick for my engineer in the ME2/3.

I'm on my way to screw over the Krogans with this femshep run I'm doing. This the first time I've played me3 with Garrus as LI and really enjoyed a scene today when we reunited on Menae and held hands for the briefest of moments, long enough to imply the emotion but short enough to remain professional in front of others. Can't wait to see how the rest of relationship goes.

Put GTA V away and jumped back into my first femShep trilogy run, which I had gotten to about 2/3 the way through ME 2 prior to GTA V pulling me away.

Helped Legion take care of the heretics - chose the rewrite option, which I hadn't done before. Plowed through Operation Overlord, and saved David from his **** brother (there really should have been a renegade interrupt option to kneecap David's brother once you see what he did to David - the punch to the face wasn't nearly enough).

Tonight I will be helping Jack blow up her former Cerberus home, then helping Tali redeem herself with the Migrant Fleet. On pace to be launching the SM with a fully loyal squad by the weekend!

I have just started my final play through of ME2, having finished my final play through of ME1 a few days ago. Once I'm done, I'll have my final play through of ME3 before putting away the trilogy for good. And then it's just a case of waiting for ME4.

You realize that you can only do two missions before the Collectors attack the Normandy, right?  So, considering how you already did Legion's loyalty mission, you can only do one more loyalty mission before the Collector attack.  And afterwards, you will have to do the remaining loyalty mission, which will result in you losing half the abducted crew when you hit the SM.  Kelly Chambers and Donnelly are among those who die.

Helped Jack nuke her old home, defended Tali to the admirals of the Migrant Fleet, and knocked off two smaller side quests I hadn't seen on any previous play-through (killed some blue suns in a mine, and stop Batarians from launching missiles at a colony - this was a good one, but I won't spoil it for those who haven't played it).

Probably going to run through the SM tonight, then do Arrival, and things will be neatly tied up for me to spend some weekend time on GTA V before jumping into ME3.

Being completely honest here - I had no idea I could sequence things in a such a way as to delay the Collector attack and thereby be able to save crew members (I am still a relative ME noob).

And so you know the Collector's had already hit the Normandy a little while back.  How does that trigger mechanism work?  Is it "timed" (iow, I can only do a certain # of missions before they hit), or is it tied directly to when I get Legion and the IFF (which makes a lot more sense as I sit here and type this).

Dammit!  Oh well, got another reason to go back and play ME2 again

If you what to get everyone's loyalty, you will have to do all of them, or all but one, before hitting the Derelict Reaper mission, as that will set a mission count (if you have at least one loyalty mission left and/or you activate Legion) that will only allow you to do two missions (side mission and loyalty mission, or two loyalty missions.  If you do the last loyalty mission you need and haven't done a mission between the Reaper IFF and then, it will trigger the Collector attack) or it will activate the Collector attack outright (if you have no loyalty missions to do and didn't wake Legion).

I played multiplayer! Ah, it feels fun after not playing it for a few months... even with all those bugs...

Thinking of replaying singleplayer! Once school is done for the semester...

It makes sense when you spell it out like that - little delay between the Collector attack and you launching the SM means you might actually save all, instead of just a few, of your crew.  I just had no idea you could do that.

I typically delay doing the Jack loyalty mission as long as possible to build up the necessary paragon/renegade points to be able to keep both Miranda and Jack loyal in the aftermath (same with Tali / Legion).  This time, however it didn't give me the dialog options and my paragon is about 95% full, just like my last play-through, when it did let me use the paragon option to diffuse the argument and keep them both loyal.

Is that particular sequence tied to more than just your paragon/renegade scores?

Well, I don't know the specific Paragon/Renegade scores you need, but it sounds like on your last playthrough, you were just over (or at) the needed Paragon score and this one you were just under it.  I tend to save either Jack or Miranda's loyalty mission for one of the very last as well.  I usually get my Paragon/Renegade to 97%-99% (it might have to do with me having all the DLCs for ME2) and I have always been able to keep both of them loyal since I started doing that (I had to figure it out the hard way).  However, there is a way to get back the loyalty of whoever you sided against in their confrontation.  You have to talk to them afterwards and try to convince them that you were just trying to placate who you sided with.  You still need to have your Paragon/Renegade be around 95% though I'm pretty sure it is somewhat lower than the requirement for the confrontation.

Tali/Legion doesn't require your Paragon/Renegade to be as high as in Miranda/Jack.  I have a couple playthroughs where I wasn't able to convince Jack and Miranda to stand down, but I was able to do that with Tali and Legion.

The way I do it, I save Samara's loyalty mission for one of the last, but I do it before Jack/Miranda's.  If I am able to use all the Charm/Intimidate options when I'm in her apartment, I have enough Paragon/Renegade to keep Miranda and Jack's loyalties in their confrontation.

As to your question; no.  The sequence isn't tied to anything other than Paragon/Renegade scores.  You could be romancing either one of them and still lose their loyalty in the confrontation.

Hope this helps. Image IPB

In the last few days, I stopped Balak but let him go to save the hostages, nuked Saren's cloning facility on Virmire, had a friendly little chat with Sovereign and saved Alenko, bought some shiney new suits of Collussus Armor for Wrex and Tali, and survived a Geth ambush on an uncharted world.

Played a few matches in the Armax Arena, then headed to the casino for a bit of varren racing, Quasar and roulette. Also met up with Wrex in the bar and he told me all about his problems with the ladies. :police: Nice change of pace!

Re-read the newest Marauder Shields, went back and reviewed all of the strips with Jacob and the Crucible to refresh my memory on a plot point, and checked out the Tali Face Mod thread to see what the latest was.

For the record, "the latest" is fricking awesome! Looks as though the mod is almost ready for release; just a couple more bugs to work out! (Albeit one of those bugs is a fairly major one having to do with the mouth animations while talking.) Those of you who still play ME3 might want to check out this video of the mod in action.

Edit: to those of you who've played with mods, do you have any idea if the Tali Face Mod and MEHEM/MEEM might be compatable with one another?
