HA HA HA HA HA HA .

I can't wait for EA to get almost no sales in UK because of this. I certainly won't be buying them if they go through with it.

Eh, I don't see any EA games next gen right now that actually interest me other than the Mirror's Edge reboot and maybe DA: I. Still a stupid as hell thing to do though.

Ah one the comments on that article was amazing.

While the entire world talks about budget problems stalled, sluggish economies and austerity measures... Guess they only plan to sell games to the folks pushing hedge funds.

Way to shrink your market, Sparky.

On one hand, this is a bit disingenuous--is it only for GAME? Is it for all games on the new consoles (meaning this has nothing to do with the UK)? I think we need a bit more clarification. On the other hand...very, very stupid, EA.

I think I'm the only person that likes you on this forum, and I think you're making a mistake.

Though I will point out that other publishers have yet to give their prices for new consoles, so we don't have all the information yet.

If the reasoning for this really is development costs, and assuming development cost usually increase with a new console generation, then gamers kind of asked for this to eventually happen in a weird way.

I don't really have much to add other than "lol". Not exactly an incentive to keep on buying EA's crap.

I don't mind paying more for quality products, but unfortunately EA rarely has quality products that I am interested in.

Meh, the price for games has pretty much been static for the past 30 years. A price increase was inevitable. Now, we'll have to see if the other developers follow suit and, if not, if EA is willing to reduce the price back.

I read the article and nearly spat my tea out at the price. £54.99, really?!

Economically not a good time bearing in mind people's salaries are in effect reducing in line with inflation.

I guess their sales for new release games may drop in Europe then. More people might wait longer to get games after the prices drop which may lead to even more ridiculous pre order exclusives to suck people into buying games at release.

55 quid?! How the [Hamilton] did it go up by 15 quid? Such bull[driver], [a pox on] them. You get special editions for an extra 5, maybe 10 quid but 55 quid for a standard game?

They can [sock monkey].

I would care but I'm not buying EA games anyway. Though, I wonder if the prices of games by other publishers will increase as well? If not then I don't see EA doing so well.

Apart from Bioware games I haven't brought anything with E.A's name on it (nothing else they publish interests me). It's not that a big a deal to me if they're raising their prices. I'll just purchase Inquisition when it price drops.

Unless other publishers will be doing the same, EA should expect to be burned like MS was at E3.

I actually expected this to happen, but not for a while. I mean, it was bound to happen eventually with inflation and everything.

I do not envy EA who made headlines for being the first to do it.

Of course, if people accept this then expect Activision and others to be not far behind.

You understimate the British love for football. Their sports games will sell all the same.

Honestly, Aside from Dead Space and BioWare games, most EA games I really do not like anyways.
