I'm hoping someone can enlighten me here.
I wanted to start a new game of ME, but with a different history, origin and class, but with the same look as my original Shepard. However, ME1 doesn't have any 'import appearance' and stuff, and although I can use my Shep from my first playthrough, I can't change his class/origin, etc.
Can anyone tell me how I can start a new game of ME and use my original shepards look? Like, can I start a new game then replace the default look with the appearance from my first playthrough savegame somehow?
ME1 new character question

You may be out of luck for modding shortcuts. Probably have to try to recreate him or her from scratch.
Few people manage to create a character which they're fully happy with on their very first attempt. So one should always keep notes of how one went about to create a given character. I've got three different sheps and I think I've reproduced each of them over ten times. That's what it took to be fully happy with them.
A system like this makes regeneration easy.

If I'd known 6 years ago, I might have taken note
However, that link you provided looks promising. A way to recreate my shep in ME1 manually, but following the code used by the previous games. Thank you
EDIT: Regrettably, because my future Sheps are imports of my ME1 shep, they do not have conventional face codes. Shepards created new in ME2 do, but Shepards created in ME2 by importing a ME1 Shepard do not.
Maybe I will have to try just manually recreate him.

Well, I think I got it working using this method;
1. Imported my ME1 Shepard into ME2.
2. Used this guide to manually recreate the ME2 version of my ME1 Shepard in ME2 using data from the imported save game file, which subsequently created a ME2 face code. (This was necessary since ME2 Shepards imported from ME1 do not have face codes in the save data, or any that do have the face code of default Shepard).
3. Used the links at the bottom of the guide you linked to convert the ME2 face code into ME1 slider instructions.
I haven't tried the instructions in ME1 yet, but I'm optimistic.
EDIT: yep, it worked perfectly. Thanks for the link

You're welcome.
Yes, both those links you submitted in your last post can be found in that thread of mine, the converters in the OP, and the guide on page 2, almost halfway down. Never tried that method (or any other for that purpose) myself, so I couldn't vouch for it. Good to hear the advice was solid.
Happy gaming now.
