That's two animations. The point is if you expect every interaction to be significantly different based on whether your relationship with the character is 'love,' 'close friend,' 'professional friend,' 'indifferent,' 'cold,' and 'hatred' you're going to be disappointed as hell. Which means they will inevitably be discrepencies.

Let me do you a favor.

Try experiencing it before declaring it impossible.

EVEN CHEAPER

10 dollars.

And the UE is only five bucks more.

I don't think you're going to be able to come up with an explanation of why Liara saves Shepard's body when they hate each other. Or why s/he fights alongside her and allows her to become the Shadow Broker. Or why Shepard allows her on the ship in ME 3. Or why Anderson gives Shepard the apartment. Or why Anderson speaks to Shepard warmly when he dies, because there really should not be an option to treat him like crap at that point.

Because the writers have made her their little pet.

And because we are forced to be buddies with Anderson

Whatever. Is that something you can accept without whining about 'bad writing'?

I'm complaining because it is a restriction on roleplaying

Both DA and ME could learn from each other probably.

DA definitely lacks in the cinematics and even basic scene direction (I think at least), compared to ME.

Reality is a restriction on roleplaying. Reality is a restriction on quite a bloody few things. I have plenty of experience with that as a physicist in training.

Honestly I'm not all that yay for cinematics anyway. DA felt fine to me. I hated the zooming in of my PC's face though. Especially the forced emotional expressions. Hit all my do not want buttons.

It was done in DA:O, why not in ME?

Yeah, UE on Steam was the way to go.

David, you're the one who is actively denying reality. You say it can't be done. There are no less than four people on this thread pointing you to where it has been done.

I expect mostly because you're heavily exaggerating the merits of DA:Os conversations.

Go to the DA:Owiki and see all the variations conversations can have.

Or better yet, play it.

I'm curious what your other experience of RPGs are (pnp and western RPGs, that is). Nothing people are suggesting is out of the ordinary for an RPG. No one is exagerrating about Dragon Age. It's nothing new.

Maybe I will. I'd have to buy it on Xbox, through. I've heard it's not nearly as good.

No modding(can't get at cut content either), but I played it on Xbox and loved it.

It's not so bad on Xbox. The main thing you'll miss from PC is an isometric type of camera mode. And hotkeys. But it has a pulldown menu that works similar to Mass Effect, so you don't need the hotkeys.

lol.. I'm happy enough to find other people don't like the hug on Illium. That's hilarious.

For me though, it's nothing against Liara specifically. I just think hugging is stupid.

I would renegade her by telling her that I'm only here for information.

I also hated the hug on the Normandy at the end of the shadow broker dlc. So if I decide to play the dlc again, I don't invite her on the Normandy.

Played through with female City Elf. Working through it with my male Dalish. Got a (selfish, elemental) male and (selfless, support-role) female mage lined up to go down the pipe next; hope to follow it up with a dwarf commoner.

Right... topic.

I hated it most because she did not understand what "We should move on" means.... Broke up with her like six times

But no mods fixing all those damn dialogue bugs on Xbox D:

Seriously DAO has some terrible dialogue bugs. Like the Leliana ninjaing the hell out of my poor HN. She's all "That time under the stars! How could you cheat on me with Alistair"

My poor warden's all "Wat."

Human noble finished, working on a human mage who may or may not become a blood mage.  I haven't decided.

I should point out that if absolutely nothing else, DA:O had half the animation work thanks to a silent protagonist and something like six years of development.

That's what I did. Comes with a buttload of DLC. Never regretted it.

I haven't even gotten around to Awakening yet.
