I should point out that if absolutely nothing else, DA:O had half the animation work thanks to a silent protagonist and something like six years of development.
How did your opinion on the characters evolve (if it did)

It's not so bad on Xbox. The main thing you'll miss from PC is an isometric type of camera mode. And hotkeys. But it has a pulldown menu that works similar to Mass Effect, so you don't need the hotkeys.
But no mods fixing all those damn dialogue bugs on Xbox D:
Seriously DAO has some terrible dialogue bugs. Like the Leliana ninjaing the hell out of my poor HN. She's all "That time under the stars! How could you cheat on me with Alistair"
My poor warden's all "Wat."
Soooo, I should get DA:O UE for PC?
I haven't even gotten around to Awakening yet.
I'm still unsure if I wanna get for PS3

On anyone other than the PC. DA series character creator sucks. Still doesn't suck as hard as ME's (and DA's can become somewhat bearable thanks to mods).
Still don't see how they made ME2's CC EVEN WORSE. HOW.

I thought I'd be annoyed by a silent protagonist, but I actually liked what I got for that trade-in (more choices, more banter, branching narrative) more than what I lost. I'd prefer waiting for better quality over a rushed release any day.David7204 wrote...

I can't speak for DA2; never played it. I assume dialogue choices were cut down when a voiced PC was added? I know there's no option of origin...

Male Hawke at least has pretty solid VA, and a ME style conversation wheel, augmented with "call on companions" "lie" "bribe" etc...DeinonSlayer wrote...

It doesn't have the number of options that DA:O has, but sarcastic Hawke is worth it.

XD Really got around eh? Gheyna better be glad that GWs have such terrible swimmers. XD I think you can sleep with her and still have her marry Camelen (or vice versa but god not without mods cause that face *shivers*) it's pretty funny if you manage that.
The pearl in DAO so so much better than the Blooming Rose. BR was just boring and not nearly as funny as the pearl.

Ah I was never fond of the beards. I love the stubble in ME (can't make a character without it) but the DA stubble is...meh. DA2's stubble is better but not by much.
Then again 99% of my characters end up female in DAO anyway so no big loss to me.
I loved aggressive Hawke though. He's so hilariously over the top rage mode.

Yeah I have no idea why they don't give full rotation. Realizing your characters cheeks are too puffy/gaunt is aggravating. Ended up with Cerub cheeks after like 12 times of trying to get it right and just went screw it. Those cherub cheeks bothered me the whole intro.

I should also mention DA2 with its voiced protag is also pretty reactive regarding your companions. You can be an absolute ass to them and they will hate you right back. Including the poster character, who can miss all of Act 3 because you sold her out.
One of those few things I liked about DA2.
One of those things I really wish was added into Mass Effect. I'd love to have a conflicting relationship with several crew-members in ME3. Some of them will absolutely hate my Shepard.
