To say that something was "perfect" based on a "triumphant" ending....well, that's just ridiculous lol

Besides: Saving the Galaxy > Blowing up a base

Keeping the base + ruling over the galaxy > blowing up the base + saving the galaxy. B)

my neoliberalist constructivist altruism coming out.

Seriously?

Low-Mid EMS Destroy: most appropriate ending to the trilogy

true. I actually genuinely like low-EMS Destroy. It's the only ending in the trilogy that actually deserves to be labeled "bittersweet".

Indeed.

Everyone will die but they will die knowing they did everything they could to stop the reapers. And they'll die free.

wolfhowwl, that's Refuse you're quoting bud.

Thats the weak paragon quote, renegade shep never accept defeat:wizard:

Amusingly enough both types of Shepards die like a b**** after making that pretty little speech.

Star Jar probably laughed about it with Harbinger over human smoothies later.

Except for Insanity mode and the ****ing overpowered Pyro enemies! ARGH!

If a Pyro hits you even once, you get stunlocked to death - which wouldn't be so bad if they didn't surprise-flank you in a tight corridor you HAVE to walk into!

Paragon shep maybe.
Renegade shep lives to fight a hundred more years.

however, All the shepards who agree to take the reapers word for it die shortly after.

Refuse is the only ending where you dont see shepard die.

Yeah that Vorcha pyro was a real pain in the ass in my first playthrough. Like damn Garrus, maybe I should save your recruitment mission for later.

I can't NOT recruit Garrus first. The ship just feels wrong without him. Calibratin'.

Also, Overload, Concussive Shot and Sniper Rifles? The only times I don't bring Garrus is when I expect to only fight Armored enemies, like various Tuchanka missions. Good thinkg Zaeed and Thane can both break armor and use Sniper Rifles.

Look, I like men toting long, heavy sniper rifles. Don't judge me.

Mordin and Garrus are always my first and second missions respectively, but Omega sure is a rough place without all the upgrades applied.

This human is delightfully delusional.

I can't wait to see the reaper he gets processed into!

I tend to pick Garrus first because it makes the most sense, story-structure wise. He's about to be killed by the Merc bands after all, so gotta hurry to get him. Likewise I get Thane before Samara on Ilium.

Besides, it's kind of funny to scare Garrus by having him with you to the Quarantine Zone door.

the whole game is a tight corridor. This is actually the most glaring problem I have with ME2 (besides the going-nowhere plot). I immediately missed the vast openness of ME1's combat. I hope the next game gets back to those roots. Nothing like sniping from the top of a mountain.

It did an outstanding job of introducing the new characters, setting and tone. Miranda and Jacob, Cerberus and EDI. The new Normandy. New crew. It was an outstanding intro. It did a great job with the relationships of the characters from the best game, with Liara in particular.

I agree with this.

Also, you can't blame ME2 for plot failings of ME3.

There are plenty of ways that MASS EFFECT 2's story could've been made more significant in the story of the thrid game (giving the Collector Base more significance, for starters). The writers chose to go a different way for ME3. That's on that game. Not ME2.

You should try recruiting him third, after Zaeed and Grunt.  And take them with to recruit Garrus.

That's one of the very few times in ME2 where your companions actually have interaction in the game, instead of silently runnin' & gunnin'

Don't bother, OP. When ME2 came out, tons of people were all like "omg u guys, Mass Effect is DEAD to me!" because it didn't have an inventory or any vehicle sections. Then ME3 comes out, and suddenly, ME2 is the most flawless game ever made. Silly silly people.

ME2 had bad moments, I admit that. ME3 has revolting moments. That's a very different thing.

I know right. It's just really funny to see people bash ME3 for not being a RPG when ME2 had the fewest RPG elements of any game in the series.

Have you actually read the thread, or did you just need to chime in something that's been negated 42 pages ago?
