Well...
If it's because the Frostbite 3 engine is hard to program rpgs for, as claimed in another thread then why use it if it causes a delay ?
If your team lacks the experience to do the job why wasn't Bioware better prepared ?
How much of this delay is self inflicted ?
Just asking.

because creating a new engine from scrach will be 100x harder and proably 1000x as buggy.

Edit: I dont mind waiting, most of the games you have to wait for anyway.

I don't mind waiting, I just wish they'd give us a little more info on it.

Well....Schumacher will get rid of all the bugs for us.
Rotfl.
I wasn't impressed with the graphics in the trailer .
They need to get a lot better.
Imagine going for the next 6 mo. or more with no new news.
That's what it's going to be like.
I expect the enthusiasm will wane.

 preorder DLC

God knows those "Here's a few items to make the game easier for an hour or so and then they're vendor trash" items are vital to the experience.

Who cares about vital? Not Bioware at least. That's why you had the Black Emporium as preorder DLC and Exciled prince as day 1 for DA2. Bioware couldn't care less if their consumers plays the game as it was intended. There is no intended experience. It's just like buying meal at a fast food restaurent. You want extra fries and a big soda? Who cares?Bioware is just making products. Nothing more than that.

Because you think it hasn't already? BSN is dead it's been super quite for months now, the trailer didn't even bring back a lot of people, it's going to be like that for a full year at least, I expect the place to have less than 20 post/day in 9 months unless BW really decides to reveal more which I doubt

Nope, I don't get upset about games. That'd be as dumb as throwing a riot 'coz my team lost the playoffs/grudge match/whatever.

Wouldn't it be better if game companies went back to the old days of telling you they had a game when it was ready for release? What's the point of hype?

OKay, maybe disapointed is a better way in putting it? Lol.
Doing it that way could help in some ways like not getting everyone hyped as you said. But some people prefere beng kept in the loop.

I am disappointed too.  I was so looking forward to playing on my new PS3 which I am getting in the Fall. Do we know for a fact that the delay is due to the new engine?

IMO
The longer the wait , the more the hype. The more the hype, the more the risk of vitriolic reations... unless the game is perfect in every conceivable way to every conceivable fan preference.
I can hear it now ... they took another 18 months do produce this c***?? :o
Sorry to be so negative here and I hope I am wrong. I hope players will love the game and appreciate the extra time taken to get it as close to right as Bioware can.

Anyone who complained about DA2 being rushed has no right to complain about DA:I coming in late 2014.

I want them to take as much time as possible to put out the best possible game they can.

If it took as long as a late 2016 release, I'd be fine with that. There are other games to play between now and a DA:I release.

No, not really, my backlog of games is large enough that I could wait much longer than that. My goal is to buy Dishonored, Bioshock Infinite and Skyrim: Legendary Edition for $5 a piece during Steam's 2014 summer sale to stay entertained for the last leg of the wait.

After the hit and miss known as Awakening and DA2, I say they should take their time.

I am happy the enthusiasm is waning.
Hope it cuts down on nonsensical thread starting.
Hasn't happened yet though has it ?
Rotfl.
The competition aka other rpgs coming out before DAI might get more love and attention, putting more pressure on Bioware.

I don't mind having to wait longer for Inquisition, if it results in a better game. It seems like Dragon Age II was rushed out and some parts of the game definitely suffer because of it (re-used areas, etc).

I don't mind at all.

If anyone here is a Valve fan they should be used to waiting.

Obviously I would like it as soon as possible.  Right now, if that was possible.  But if the option is to release a rushed game ealier on or to release a well-made game at the end of 2014, I'm fine with waiting.

But I do think that expectations will be way up come the time of the release and that people will have less patience with flaws considering the delay.

Bioware better take time and do things right. They already screwed over DA2 and TORtanic with ME3 ****storm. There is no any margin for error.

I can't help but agree. Considering the game was originally set to come out in just a few months, you know that there are things ready to show us that for whatever reason they're choosing not to.

I'm not saying it's a bad call -- I'm just saying it's bound to cause fan frustration. Image IPB A lot of us were already planning our preorders by now.

Clearly there is some margin if those three things were such horrible experiances and you are still here.

The fact that it's coming out fall of 2014 isn't what bothers me. I really hope that taking an extra year to make the game brings back the quality of DAO.

What bothers me is that Bioware let everyone think the game was going to be released in 2013 for months, and then releases a vague video that simply tells us it's not coming till fall of 2014. Thats too early to release a video. Why didn't they just tell us on the boards about the delay when it became known and release the video at a more appropriate time.

Does that mean we will be waiting months more for any new bit of info on the game? I don't like it when people put a very shiny but very tiny carrot on a stick, and expect me to follow it for a year before i even get a taste.
