does this game utlize 4 cores? im only seeing 50% usage from DA:O its seems the game does not want to use the other 2 Cores. Why is it lagging when the 2 other cores remain idle

System specs

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 - OC 3.6 Ghz

Galaxy 275 GTX.

Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR800 - OC DDR849.

Creative X-fi Titanium

WinXp Pro X64.

the logs say this.

why is it only using only 3 worker threads the game engine see 4 Logical cores yeat it only uses 50% Cpu of my power?? should be 75% according to logfile. that seems silly that it doesn't ultize the CPU to push better frames what ever engine this game is using needs an overhaul. i7 has 8 threads while Q9550 has please let the engine all of the avaiable power.

would like a dev to comment why the engine was programmed like this?

ok im having the same issue after about a hour it just laggs real bad or it will run smooth after i load a new area but damn load time is like 5 min uhhh. this is the only game that laggs like hell and with load time from 2-7 mins. i tried lowering setting and  maxing them out to see if there is a differance and it doenst matter it just when that damn 1 hour mark hits it just craps out. uhhhh they need a patch badly
My specs are
2.3 quad core phenom 9650
285 GTX 1 gig version
8 gigs of SLI ram running at 840
and 2 HDD raid 0

Step 1:

I've combined the needed files from the phenom fix here:

www.dateranoth.com/videos/phenomfix.exe

It's a compressed executable rar file. Just extract them to a folder on your computer somewhere. Everything needed is in there. Once extracted simply open the folder and run this file: TLB_Disable.exe with administrative privaledges. If it works it should say

Status: Phenom TLB patch disabled. Phenom at full speed.

I have Phenom processor..this worked for me. Just run the file after evry reboot before you play the game.

This worked for me.  I haven't had a load time over a minute no matter how long i play.  Much better than restarting every 20 minutes...  Thanks for reposting this Sambuka!

I got the problem just like everyone ealse, my computer is over the minimum and the recommend requirements:

AMD Phenom 9500 Quad - Core Processor 2.20 GHz

Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT

435 gig Hard Drive

3.00 GB RAM

A fix would be really nice Bioware, I'm still getting all of the DLC and expansion that's coming out, i even pre ordered Mass Effect 2 CE but it's really annoying in Dragon Age that you have to restart the game every so because of long loading times, even to the point where the game totally slows down into lag spikes because of the memory "leak". Still my favorite company in games but please, fix this, it's a real big issue for most people. (I feel kinda ridiculous posting this long..)

ok i have ran the same driver as my buddy and it doesn't make a difference i have been in contact with EA game support and well they just keep sating update the drivers which is done, try patching the game which i did before i played, and my favorite saying i have to may devices plugged into my system what did i have a keyboard and a mouse wtf last thing i haven't tried and they recommend was to uninstall and reinstall. Honestly they need to get there **** together and FIX THE DAMN PROBLEMS OF THE GAME BEFORE ADDING MORE EXPANSIONS WHICH THEY THINK WILL HIDE THE DAMN MEMORY LEAK. UHHHHHHHH i know its not my system damn EA/bioware

If you used this version and say that it works, did you uninstall .net framework versions 1,2 and 3? If you didn't then it is still using the old version 2. :P

No i installed version 4 and it didn't get ride of netframe 1.1 i would say leave it it didn't hurt anything and got a performance increase out of it. but if its true that you will have to delete 1.1 and reinstall 4 beta 2 then it wouldn't hurt anything the game is already ****ed so try it and see if it works for you

So anyone can confirm that this new driver fixed the alleged leak?

So it looks like the issue is not the game, but instead is people's computers.

new driver has not fixed the leak, and PBI it is a memory leak it has been confirmed and you are telling me that everyones comp is the damn issue now thats funny. If you read the posts here and on other websites there are ppl with very high end rigs that can't even run it so i doubt its the computers its more of the game like anything same issue happened with the first mass effect memory leak and oh you couldn't use a AMD proc either lol damn bioware needs to fix this crap like now.

I've had problems with slowdowns during cut scenes happening directly after combat and the new nvidia drivers seem to have fixed that problem. I don't think it was the memory leak problem though because my RAM usage wasn't high during those slowdowns.

The only thing we can do is wait for a fix, i trust that Bioware will make a fix, patience will be key for now, i'll just enjoy they're Mass Effet 2 for a while C:
