My system is: Windows 7 x64 4gb ddr3 intel i5 @3.3ghz gtx260 super overclocked.I run the game in the 1280x1024.
I hope that BioWare and EA to make a patch for this problem and to optimize the game.

I doubt it. Those kinds of programs are overrated, and don't treat the core problem when the issue is one program or game using more memory than it was designed to.hero 2 wrote...
Does anybody know if using a memory manager like www.giveawayoftheday.com/memory-washer/ might solve this issue? As you can tell, I haven't tried it yet.

ahh my loading times aren't that bad, atleast i don't think they are... it's the frames per second after i've been playing for about 20 mins thats killing me... i have set all my settings to med/low and i end up with about 3 frames per sec until i get cranky and exit out the game. i've also noticed when i run task manager when the game is running my cpu is maxed at 100%
This is the exact problem I have and I know it's nothing to do with my system since I have above recommended specs and every other game (even those with higher requirements) run perfectly.
DA:O itself used to run without a hitch until 2 weeks ago, so it's a bit baffling. And patch 1.03 doesn't fix this framerate issue

Hearing this description, it sounds like your cpu are overheating. I've had problems like this in the past, and when the cpu get to hot, it downclocks itself. Have you cleaned your cpu fan lately?

AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core Processor
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9100
Windows 7 64 bit
I found that by starting the game then opening task manager, going to the processes tab, right clicking the DAOrigins.exe, going to Set Affinity... and then unchecking cpu 0, my problem was solved. The game does not freeze or slow down any more.
Hope this helps.

I could fix the 100% cpu load problem doing this:
1) Download and Install CPU Control 2.1
http://www.chip.de/d...l_32204368.html
(its german, just click download)
or use this direct download link
http://www.chip.de/d...833dcbdb9c0dbfb
2) Start CPU Control, click the Automatic option on the right side
3) Start Dragon Age
4) Minimize the game and open the CPU Control Menue, right-click daorigins.exe, click cpu1+2 ( dualcore )
5) Play the game
I dont know if this problem was already solved in this forum, didnt find anything via search, just wanted to share this info.
PS: not only does this reduce cpu load, it reduces loading times A LOT, and you get some perfomance boost as well
Haven't tried it yet, but I was thinking of looking into it.

I'm actually kinda embarrassed to even post this but I think it may some who have this issue.
A few months ago I was playing DA with the settings rather high – no problems what so ever. About a month ago I noticed that when I first loaded my save the game started out fine but then after about 5 minutes the FPS got dreadfully slow. It seemed that restarting the game didn't help either.
I searched the tech forum and thought it was that “memory leak” issue – I couldn't have been more wrong. I eventually found a poster mention that on some motherboards it tunes down the clock settings on the CPU when overheating. I check my CPU stats – fan 2500 rpm 65 idle and 88 max – I knew those settings seemed rather high.
Opened my case and knew right away what my problem was – dust! Gave it some air and now I have 950 rpm 38 idle 68 max. DA's been running awesome ever since!
Earlier I had considered heat but brushed it aside because Mass Effect 2 didn't seem to be effected at all.

Before the fix, I had all the problems everyone else has complained about in these forums when it comes to lag. After about five minutes of playing, the game would start to lag and would especially do so when engaging in combat. It would eventually fix itself and play normally, but would always go back to chunky lag and even entering the inventory or loot screen would trigger it (not to mention dialogue). And yes, my CPU usage was ALWAYS at 100%.
My computer was above recommened specs and I was confounded just as everyone else. So I ended up buying an ATI Radeon HD 4670 for $85 from newegg and now have no problems whatsoever. And I also get to play the game on the highest settings. HaHA!
FIX: Go buy a good GPU.
Recommended Bioware fix: Offer printable, updated recommended specs to tape on the back of our DOA cases.

Basically did what Chris Nordstrom (above) did, but unchecked CPUs 0 and 1.
I run vista 64 bit on a quad processor.
Worked fine for me.
