Memory Leak?

BW is completely aware of the memory leak, but fixing it is 100Xs harder than fixing other bugs in the game as it can be leaking from 1-100 places
Another way to slow the memory leak is to disable the hig Rez texture pack. They never fixed the memory leak inDAO and since DA2 is basically the same engine, it probably suffers from a lot of things that plagued Dao

it seems they fixed it for da2 because i have no problems running it at all even with graphics all maxed up
but da:o still gives me problems
I doubt a patch will come

also forcing the game to use one core is unnecessary. so dont bother.

dont doubt, just have patience and faith...yes i know sounds like bs, but good faith is often rewarded
Can you give an example of when that has ever happened?
Bioware will NEVER put out a fix for this so I'm hoping a community member can figure it out. Some people are saying the memory leak is in DA2? Why are Bioware trying to sell broken games. I've had enough of this company!

Had a user made fix in days, but still was neglected in the entire batch of official patches, is still there in DA:O.
I'd say that faith in them fixing this leak issue is slightly more likely; than them actually reading on here about it and caring, which is unlikely as shown wih the server debacle.
There is no sign that anyone with intent or dare I say it honour that actually wants to raise the issue of mistakes, let alone seek to fix them.
This issue is a pain and needs fixing, but I doubt it will.
Maybe if the server issue gets some coverage over its handling and the company gets a scare..
Someone will point to issues still related to products and use it as continued negligence of inferior products.
Then it'll looked at.. good luck though, another ten years when everyones a gamer maybe, now not likely.

so what, we need a movement of some sort to try to get them to respond. there must be a way
Could post a thread at the EA support, it'll probably be flooded by them though...

I downloaded Game Booster, its free software for using its basic features but you need to pay for the full version. The basics are what I'm using right now.
With GB use its boost feature to close unneded apps and it'll clean out your ram. Then place a shortcut for DAO into the "gamebox" (located in the bottom left corner of your desktop screen, only one game at a time) Run it from there and it should run without any problems. I'm also running Cleanmem (again, free) I set it to clean out my memory every 1-5 minutes if memory use excedes 50%
Remember, I could play for only 5-15 minutes before, I tested it for an hour with no problems at all and I could have kept going. Maybe it'll work for you? worth a try atleast...
If you do this let me know if it works for you!

ive been keeping my eye in those programs just seems easier to run single core or whatever i get the same results. but is a pain in the brain to keep forcing affinity. i wish there was a setting in the configs to make it persistent.
Curious... I see you also have DA2... do you experience similar memory leak issues with that game?

but now that i've upgraded and replayed the game to import my save into da2, i get incredible memory leak problems and when there's a lot happening on the screen, i will get delayed actions and damage notifications. This seems so strange to me since i got better performance with a weaker computer and that also i don't have the same problems in da2. It seems that somehow they managed to fix the problem in da2 but not in origins (yet they use the same engine). I think this is something that bioware could easily patch if they cared about their player base... but now that EA has taken over, i really can't see a patch coming.

thats where the affinity trick seems to work(but it is not a fix bioware)
