I'd like to see a return of the 6 person party, like in Baldur's Gate, Icecwind Dale, PS:T, etc.

Yes.

AND ... then I'd also like an option for "autopause" after every round for combat.  The best thing about Dragon Age: Journeys (besides the DA:O loot) was the returned to true turn-based combat.

PLEASE DEAR GOD NO TURN BASE keep the combat system in the next game the same as origions

ya i will never buy this if it is turn based. I would like more "elite" weapons. There are some good ones but what about bows? I never
really
want to be an archer because you don't get anything when it
comes to a really kickass weapon. more races would really be awesome
like qunari and to the drow comment that actually would be kinda cool. but ya more options for swords/armor make some cool looking ones too for once...StarFang look real badass but i have yet to find a weapon that imo looks as awesome

Love this..Return to ostigard is still DOA and were already thinking about a possible next game. Well in 5-6 years when that comes out i suspect there will be some graphic improvements and if NWN and Knights of the old republic are any thing to go buy they will give the whole project to a company that will sink the franchise like the titanic in a glass of scotch on rocks

1) I'm about 85% certain the game is already turn-based.   There's just no automatic pause between combat rounds.

2) You will notice that I included the word "option."

maybe some additional races like the Quinari, or the Drow, or even a halfling of some sort...

Drow?Image IPB

Drow are Like dark elves, purplish black skin, white hair and usually red or purple eyes. they typically live underground and are evil, but not all are evil so i think it would be an interesting origins story full of conflict....

do they actually exist in DA:O or r they non-canon?

1. Better looking robes for mages, the real robes like in BG+cloaks please
2. Dancing in taverns/inns with your party member xD (like in Mass Effect)
3. To gain unique house depends on your origin (like in BG again)
4. To have atleast 1 true, happy ending but that you work hard trough whole game for it xD, means completeing 100% of game
5. Would be cool to have this evil/good conversation interrupts like in ME2 (haven't play it yet but looks fun) example: Alistair leaving Landsmeet you throw sword in his back or you run with him to stop him and gain more conversation
6. Multiplayer but not MMO, more like LAN or whatever
7. Changes like day and night, rain, stormy, snow, wind etc
8. More life in game (especially cities)
9. While travelling trough map you discovering some side locations (sidequests, like in BG, doh again BG)
10. That being evil can be rewarding sometimes and to be good sometimes is not rewarding all the time aswell
11. More dragons
12. Uh hoh..humm what else... more little romances with npcs, maybe even gaining a child xD
13. More char customization options ofc
14. Chance to stop being Grey Warden and remove that taint (with Avernus help) :( it seems so forced
You add more... :D alot of things i wrote here hehe...
edit: Jowan and Sandal for party members!!! doh how I could forgot that :D

MOAR types of enemies.

Right now they fall under three broad types:

A. Mundane...mostly bad bad elves, dwarves, and people you have to kill because they are outlaws or for political reasons. Some rather ornery wildlife like Dragons and bears also fall into this catagory.

B. Darkspawn and those tained by them. Alot of the animal monsters like giant spiders fall under this catagory.

C. Demons and those possessed by them.

Generally whenever you go into a plot you sorta figure it is either going to be about Darkspawn, Demons, or political conflict. That worked great in DA:O but may get a little stale as the series goes on.

Hi there Xalena! Image IPB

You made some good points, but I wanted to pick up on this, one, particularly the weather effects (why didn't I think of it - DOH!). I think this could be a fantastic idea. It sort of doubles (or better) the Day/Night cycle options. So we could have:

Day - Calm weather
Day - Stormy weather (rain or snow depending upon the environment)
Day - Post-storm: After rainfall we could get a rainbow or maybe a mist/fog.
Night - Calm (moonlight? When the werewolves like to dance)
Night - Stormy weather (with flashes of lightning periodically illuminating a dimly lit battlefield)

Certain quests could be linked to this cycle, certain monsters may be more powerful during different times of the day or even in different weather!

Sexier mage robes for my female Warden, thank you, and no more cone-head helmets. *begs pathetically* Failing that, I'd just like an option to not display your helmet at all.

I would also like to see additional unique and interesting sidequests, and possibly more random encounters (not over-the-top a la Final Fantasy or something where you run into something every five steps you take, but a nice, balanced number). Perhaps in combat things could also be set up so that enemy placement is dynamic and can change? It does get a bit dull when you can predict where every enemy will be. On the other hand, I do enjoy launching Storm of the Century on unsuspecting enemies when I know where they are...

1) Bioware isn't a believer in "Sandbox worlds" for gameplay. This was discussed to death on the old forum. Bio believes in story-based, single player games. Seeing as Bethesda already does the whole "open world" single player thing, I think it's a good thing for the RPG market to have a company do something different.

2) Limited MP? (Like NWN or maybe a co-op mode) Maybe. MMO, gads no.

3) Different area of the world, well that's all but confirmed in-game already.

4) Player housing? Yeah, I've always liked this. The stronghold quests in BG2 were fun too.

5) Make the inversed bell-curve efficiency of 2 handed warriors and archers into a more linear progression. But do 'not' make it so that every class does the same amount of damage throughout the game at the same time.

6) Day/night cycle would be nice. But sorry, I don't want all the shops to close. Nothing more annoying in a single player game than sitting around waiting for something to happen; esp. when that 'something' is shopping.

7) More customization options:

a) PC choice: Hair styles, beards, character height/width.

B) Armor/outfit crafting-- or even dyeing. This was something I missed from NWN1.

8) Relationships outside the party.

9) More playable factions. Maybe using factions as differing origins instead of simply using race/class. You could have a circle origin (like before), and then the Chantry, Templars (perhaps as a subset of the previous), Crows, Orlesian Bards, Chevalier (perhaps this would be a 'noble' origin), and then the Dalish, City Elf and Dwarven options from before. Really, this would only be 3 (or really even 2 1/2) more openings than before. I do like having the Wardens remain as a playable faction in their own right. I'm not sure a story where the Blight is not central should revolve around them, though.

I would like more character customization.
No multiplayer or open world, that tends to take away from the story, like in NWN.
A longer story, possibly less depressing.
Less stubborn companions, like they don't disapprove no matter what you do.
SPEARS AND LONG HAIR!!!
Edit:  Oh, and also some new classes might be fun Image IPB

No multiplayer thank you. I like the idea that even thou *POSSIBLE SPOILER?* I got the short end of the stick with most people accepting the morrigan's offer and romancing her, the game can freaking end.

I am in full anticipation of any other games that advance this quite ambiguous story ending i got. Its looking bleak for any kind of romantic happy ending i want in future games, but even if i can get one as a technicality like oh say ("Morrigan and the warden were last seen slaying darkspawn/whatever in such and such woods) or "While away morrigan made some powerful enemies and now keeps the warden around for extra protection) i would take that.

In any event,

This is an RPG that isn't meant to be an MMO, it has a great story and you are a key individual to the plot and crucial for story development. Imagine if the story was told :

"And you are the last of your kind, there is only 50,000+ (dont have any kind of real figure, that number just sounded nice and round) wardens out there! but your key, its up too you, the other wardens couldn't possibly be up for the task"

Then we would just have another lame ass WoW game, and even thou WoW was fun in its own respect, thats not why any of us like Dragon age. Wow has terrible story telling, unlikeable/relateable characters, and then we'll probly end up with some monthly subscription for a sub par game, after such a tremendous start to a franchise.

Sorry about all that ranting, guess i could have said

"I dont, care for an mmo idea" But i actually really like this game and think that would ruin its uniqueness.

I realize you are half jesting here (or perhaps 1/10 jesting maybe...) but honestly for me, that is exactly what I want.

Not in the sense of MOAR of EVERYTHING!!!! but, I loved DAO, would love to see another adventure in this game world.  And as video games are the only story telling medium I know of where sequels routinely outshine the original, I would just be excited to see the evolution of DA.  I'm sure the expansion(s) will be a blast, but the thought of a full blown sequel evolving the engine, character interactions, overall gameplay definatley has me excited.

So I guess what I want for the next sequel of DAO is - DAO, only more so. Image IPB

Time! This game would have been so much more exciting if you felt a sense of urgency at impending doom. I don't mean necessarily having the game end if you waste too much, but have more and more random encounters with Darkspawn as times goes on, indicating their constant encroachment. I want to feel like I've got to get this done.

A deeper combat/class system that's more like 3e than WoW. A "feat" should not be the ability to attempt to hit someone with your shield three times. If that's in the game, anyone with a shield should be permitted to try... but the ones that have mastered the shied should be able to do it effectively.

More styles, specifically, more weapon styles. A hand axe is not used the same way as a sword or a mace. A short sword is not used the same way as a long sword. Give defensive ratings to various weapons (a hand axe is useless as a defensive weapon, a long sword is a great defensive weapon) and speed ratings (the whole point of a hand axe is a constant barrage of blows for the sake of intimidation, for example).

I think Bioware should take some of our idea's and put it on a vote for the next game...I hope for the next game to be a direct sequel at least....and it would be awesome to have a kind of DAO as a fable II style....

The ability to save presets ingame during character customisation and easier ways to import data from the toolset so there is less borkage due to user dorkage. :innocent: Completely not related to me breaking my game and having to reinstall, of course...

Magically enhanced clothes that are NOT robes. What is a leather loving lass to do? Ive been wearing rogue gear. I look hawt but Morrigan makes fun of me over dinner.  I make her wear lei's chantry gowns through Denerim as punishment so it equals out.

Helmet hiding toggle. Please. Useful when annoyed at a character, but during moments of vanity I appreciate my purdy 'do.

That said, the game is awesome as is. We all scream 'more!', because we don't want it to end. Probably annoying, but a compliment, non?

ps. thank you for investing in amazing voice actors, it truly makes a great game simply fantastic!

My GOD I hope no game from this pint in history ever resembles the fable sries, especially not a game like DA.

yeah i mean if fable 2 offered:

housing,

people interacting,

unique armours,

more customization (not with choosing what your character looks like ofc thats preset)

im sure bioware can do that and fable is relatively old compared to DA:O, so why cant bioware do it?

maybe thats what bioware should do, set a target and see if they can beat fable 3, because if that allows you to completely generate your own looks well i would say there is some serious compitition
