I did a playthrough as a BM / Entropy and I have to say I was very disappointed, the descriptors are quite misleading as well as the Enemy BM's have many more "Better" BM abilities. Granted you can max out on your "Con" stat and have insane mana for any other spells you wish to cast but using just those 2 trees, you do alot of standing around waiting for oppurtune moments to attack..
One would think with all the Enemy BM's roaming around your abilities would surpass them, as your supposedly a Mage from the Fereldan Circle, meaning you have had proper training. be it in normal magus skills, or other, that part can be left to imagination.
But the Enemies get a nasty ranged attack that throws you across the screen, I dont have that, yeah I can control an enemy for 20s yay, and when it dies it explodes double yay, but other than that the tree really stinks IMHO.
What are your experiances?
Disappointed in BM skills, how do you feel about it?

Are we the only ones here????(jk)
Well BM to some people is amazing, sadly I'm with you. BM after you get past the visual of the skills it really is lackluster compared to enemy bloodmages.Like you said it's mostly waiting around for enough enemies to use skills, but I have never really cared for mage specs.I think it's better to get out as many damage skills or support skills as possible, unless your focusing on force mage spec.

It does extend your spellcasting during long fights, especially with Sacrifice. And hemorrhage sets up a nice cross-class combo.
I think of BM as a utility tree, rather than as a heavy-damage dealer.

I have just finished a blood mage playthrough using SuicidialBaby's guide and it was awesome. Aggressive hawke and a pile of bodies all around her yells "there's nothing like the smell of fresh blood"
I did spend a bit of time in fights running away from Fenris charging at me to "help" but all up it was great.
