It's definitely gold viable at level 1. But make sure to use decent equipment. I like it on the geth infiltrator, quarian female infiltrator, quarian male infiltrator...and pretty much any infiltrator really, any of the ones that have the 25% sniper damage evo on their cloak. As far as builds go, pretty standard sniper builds. You can even use it as a second weapon on the destroyer or demolisher.

My favourite character for the valiant definitely has to be the geth infiltrator.

Ignoring shield gate on this weapon refers to you having 3 bullets in a clip. Thus you take away the enemies shields with 1 or 2 shots (depending on class, level and equipment) and finish them of with the next shot. Phasics will help on this weapon too and if you intend to use it on an Infiltrator then use the HVB on it and skip AP ammo.

Most people use this weapon on caster classes though, particularly the Asari Justicar and the Salarian Engineer. It is not that good against bosses and you should always strive for headshots with this weapon for it to be effective. AJ and SE both have powers that deal with armor very well so use the weapon for shields and barriers (or cheese it with incendiary rounds!)

I use spare ammo, heavy barrel, and warp rounds 4, with sniper rifle rail amp 3.

And if you use the Black Widow instead you don't even have to aim but can kill three mooks per clip just by shooting them in the foot. Also bosses die a lot lot faster to the BW than the Valiant.

Use it on any infiltrator. I prefer it on the QFI for no apparent reason. It is fun with Disruptor Rounds.

Basically it is decent on anything that can boost the damage, so things with cloak, Adrenaline Rush, biotics + Warp Rounds, etc.

I had a lot of fun with it on the SI (about a year ago ,  should still work though)

Try something like:
6 dmg/duration, recharge, sniper dmg
5 dmg, dmg taken
6 dmg, drain, armor
5 weapon dmg, headshot dmg
4 durability

Which is funny because at one point it was "the best" sniper rifle against bosses.

I usually use the Valiant on Infiltrators that don't have a shield-stripping power to eliminate shield gating issues.  Most often, I use it on the Human Infiltrator (I have one specced for Shotguns and the other specced for sniping).  I occasionally spec the QFI for sniping and use the Valiant on her also.

At higher levels, the Valiant is light enough to use on classes where cooldowns matter more.  I don't have it at that level yet though.

I used to love the Valiant (see sig). I still occasionally break it out, although I've been using it a lot less since I got the Black Widow to a high enough level and learned to reload-cancel.

They're both at X now. The BW is my weapon of choice nowadays, but the Valiant is a fun gun. It's super super fast which is nice.

I use it mostly on infiltrators and sniping-engineers. Basically anything that uses a sniper rifle and cares about cooldown.

The Valiant is just awesome on her.

Basic Infi builds, of course (as has been mentioned before).

As ammo I'd say: AP, Drill, Phasic, Incendiary (maybe Warp)

I love it on my Geth Engineer Chain Overload to strip shields and stun then, bang, bang, bang. Overload is now ready to go again.

Valiant is perfect with the Salarian Infiltrator. Strip shields then pop pop pop, insta-reload, pop pop pop.

This post is obvious. We were not talking about the Black Widow my friend. Also, I prefer Valiant to BW on my SI; go ah3ad and come at me bruh

I completely agree, SI has to be used with the Valiant.
