My weapon of choice for the Salarian Infiltrator. With Operative Package and a SR Amp, you kill three mooks per clip if you can aim.
And if you use the Black Widow instead you don't even have to aim but can kill three mooks per clip just by shooting them in the foot. Also bosses die a lot lot faster to the BW than the Valiant.
This post is obvious. We were not talking about the Black Widow my friend. Also, I prefer Valiant to BW on my SI; go ah3ad and come at me bruh
If you prefer it then that is fine, it is a game after all and to always play with the most optimal weapons on the optimal characters will get boring and stale after a while.
So, good that you like it. And you know of course that the SI Black Widow would outperform the SI Valiant any day of the week, but since it is about having fun then who really cares about it?

A sniper gun made for the drell infiltrator imo.. fast rof, quick reload, sexy as f. with head shot passive and recon debuff it is serious business even on platinum, although it doesn't shine on scions, praetoreans, or banshees it isn't the worst either.
warp ammo:D

Playing optimal went out the window well before the last balance change though... boredom.

I use it on the Drell Inf for those reasons as well. But once you get it to an high enough level, you can use it on casters as the gun is pretty light then. Think of it as the Wraith of sniper rifles.

Also benefits more from incendiary rounds due to higher ROF.

That doesn't really matter because you get the damage bonus after cloak breaks for like two seconds.ITFC-Alex wrote...
Infiltrator. You can fire off all three rounds before cloak breaks.

I think it still has higher dps than the Black Widow cause it fires and reloads so incredible fast.
My favourite char to use the Valiant is the Salarian Infilrator. Energy Drain for shields then make heads pop, Proxy Mine for armored bosses and then pew pew pew in their

How so? The Valiant has the highest dps out of the Sniper Rifles, no? Beats the BW by 1/7th in reload cancel dps. ... Plus I don't think the third shot of the BW makes the tac cloak sniper bonus before it wears out? But I'd like to know for sure, so anyone know?

That said, it's still better on my GI
when you have a good leveled BW. A perfect example of too many weapons
and overlapping niches.

a) loses more damage to armor DR without the correct equipment (more bullets being fired)
c) sustained DPS vs burst DPS doesn't really compare correctly. When you break a certain burst DPS threshold, it becomes more valuable to get enough damage to one or two shot things, even at the cost of losing sustained DPS
d) SI is one of the best users of the weapon, since he can strip shields (more likely to oneshot things), gets a debuff (offsets any boss killing weaknesses, or allows you to techburst off of it), and has amazing sniper passives. On most other kits, the Valiant is a little frustrating in my experience. Could have used that headshot multiplier more than the Valkyrie IMO.

the vanilla AA with stasis makes this gun really fun - at X the cooldown is near 200%. Keep in mind I am pretty sure you can take the enhanced scope and HVB with no cooldown penatly, since this is an original weapon and the added weight doesn't apply
I prefer the BW on all my snipers. I have heard the argument that the Valiant-X actually has a higher sustained DPS than the BW-X - and the weapons stats numebrs support this - which makes the Valiant the preferred weapon against bosses actually. And when I used it on an AA, I must admit that the DPS on bosses was actually pretty damn good - if I am soloing a boss, it goes down fast.
Nonetheless, I vastly prefer the BW...
