I wouldn't want to be a Grey Warden if I had a choice. I'm not the type to sacrifice my personal life for humanity haha. I nearly vomited when Wynne was explaining what it meant to be Grey Wardens. So I would rather be an Inquisitor I guess?

Hmmm interesting question

The thing is I don't really know what the Wardens as an Order are like. Not much. In DAO you and Alistair ARE the order. Same in Awakenings. You pick up a bunch of random people out of desperation. Whatever you says goes. Not sure if it'll be the same within the Order as a normal Grey Warden. But then again I really loved my Hero of Ferelden. But I feel like her journey is done. As far as I'm concerned she's with the Order fighting Darkspawn. ;)

For me personally Hawke is the winner of the three. The Inquisitor is just a title name for now. I liked my rogue Hawke. I enjoyed playing as her. It was refreshing to play a character whose motivations were almost entirely self-interested. Her story was so incomplete. Had no closure. I'd have been delighted had we had more DLC or she was the protagonist of DA:I.

I'd have so much liked to see that DA2 was kinda the introduction of Hawke and in DA we stepped into her shoes again to deal with the Mage-Templar war and truly make her mark on the world.

And you don't have to be warden at least in official way beauce taint stays. The warden can completely screw order and even leave them in the end if thats your desire.

We don't have a clue what the Inquisitor is going to be like so why would anyone support that?

None.

Wouldn't want to be a warden.
Champion doesn't mean anything.
Don't know anything about Inquisitor.

I love my Warden and Hawke for completely opposite reasons. I built them to be different, and with that, I wouldn't be able to choose. Now, would I rather be a Grey Warden rather than Nobility (ie: Hawke)? Probably, that was kind of fun. Idk!! I love them all so much lol.

I can't speak on my preference of the Inquisitor because we have yet to see anything of him/her.

Hmm, I think I would go Inquisitor, if only because I have high hopes for it.

I reseve my right to choice until AFTER DA:I is out to answer this question.

Because well, I can't judge a 'role' until I have played all of them.

I would rather be a freelancer like Hawke. He can do pretty much whatever he wants courtesy of his title. Also, I imagine the Wardens might be a little grim. IDK what an Inquisitor even is.

Actually, wouldn't you rather be Hawke, who is just an unfortunate schmuck that is just pulled into bad situations and trying to make do with what hand he is dealt (a bad one)?  The inquisition is probably all for sacrificing for humanity like the wardens as well is my guess.

I don't really know, between Hawke and the Warden i prefer the Warden....or better i prefer the character since i don't think my wardens represent the whole order, from what i saw the norm is people like Stroud or Duncan, they are not bad but they are not good either...they are grey, good when life allows it, heartless when they need to be.......if i could do my **** like in the DA:O the wardens, if not the champion i suppose

Wardens are shackled to their duty (and thus the darkspawn) via the taint, complete with inevitable death sentence/insanity. That's a NO.

The Champion is a nice title that seems to grant a modicum of political immunity (my Hawke was a mage), and comes from commiting an act of heroism - not from participating in a job you're obliged to do. Pretty nice, plus I got a statue.

The Inquisitor seems to also be motivated by an assigned job, though I'm only inferring this from his/her title alone.

The round goes to The Champion!

My favorite role so far? Ser Pounce Alot.

I can't really make a decision on the inquisitor, because I don't know anything about that role yet.

So between the Warden and Hawke, the Warden. Minus the fact that he/she wasn't voiced

I don't know enough about the Inquisitor until I actualy play as him when the DAI comes out. But as far as Hawke and the Warden goes I give the edge to the Warden. Don't get me wrong I like Hawke and I thought he was a fun protaginist to play as and sarcastic Hawke can be very entertaining but overall the Warden has a more epic adventure, bigger enemies, and last but not least has a more impressive resume.

The warden. You're the hero of Ferelden, live or die.
Like getting the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Alvin York, Audie Murphy, a host of others.

Hawke ?
Hawke failed due to bad writing in a subpar game.

The Inquisitor ?
Suspect DAI won't be as good imo as DAO.
DAO one of the best rpgs ever made imo.
But to be fair I'll have to wait and see.

I loved the mage Hawke so much. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan  and even wrote a master's thesis on it but the mage Hawke I created was the first fictional warrior that I have ever liked more than a Jedi Knight. I really wish we could use our Hawke as the main protagonist in DAI.

That scene in the first quest when Aveline's husband Wesley steps towards Bethany because she is an Apostate and Hawke steps between them even though she was a lot smaller than him and looked him right in the eye was one of the best scenes in a game EVER in my opinion. So much was said with out having to say a single word....amazing stuff.

Don't know enough about the Inquisitor yet. I liked the Hawkes and the Wardens about the same as characters, but it's a bit apples to oranges given the dramatic difference between the roleplaying in the two games...and even in the protagonist's role.

TBH I'm not sure I'd want to be Hawke or the Warden. Hawke's life blows, and the Warden is pretty much Blessed with Suck, doubly so for a mage.
