Since Liara is not in ME 2 and I want to romance her for ME 3 should I not romance anyone in ME 2? I have seen threads that if you romance someone in ME 2 it ruins your romance possibilities with Liara in ME3.....any truth to this?

Get Lair of the Shadow Broker. You can renew your romance with her in that DLC. (Also, its a pretty fun DLC.) It does not count as a romance, though, if you are looking for an achievement.

No she's just like "it's been long and you and so and so were close, but do you still have feelings for me?" Just say yes and then when you meet your ME2 love interest break up with him or her. (and don't try to romance both again or she'll dump you)
