I just made a quick video of a Quarian Male Infiltrator with the Collector SR. I'll upload it whenever it's done so people can see another perspective.

Sure, and if you could give the build too ill add it to the OP :wizard:

Build

It was a lot of fun to do too. Unfortunately the U/U/G gave me FBW Cerberus, but it shows the diversity of the build (especially against on host Phantoms). I break your sustained fire rule pretty often but it's all situational. There are times burst is very important and times sustained fire is very imporant.

Anyways, it's just a 9 minute teaser but it was a 30 minute game. The gun also saves you from the woes of Aim-Assist. <3

MQI vs Cerberus

Ignore the music. I didn't realize it was loud at all.
Also, please tell me how it is. I thought it was pretty smooth and showed why consoles don't NEED Aim-Assist and we can do pretty well without it.

Thanks. The ease of which you can do that is one reason I love the CSR. That and annihilating Phantoms after an Arc grenade.

How to shamelessly pimp out your cool CSR-GI solo in someone else's thread.

Yeah, I think I saw that vid in another of your threads (the solo speedrun one?) and had to try it. I'm in love with this gun since.

I finally got around to unlocking the Defender banner and the CSR wasn't as bad as I remembered it. I like how you can chain quickscopes but found it took a while to kill Brutes/Banshees.

I want to try it on an Asari Infiltrator. I like the Javelin/Widow/BW better for traditional sniper roles.

The CSR is likely a lot better on PC, since you don't have to worry about autoscoping like on XBox.  It would be nice to be able to aim at an enemy, and then scope in to shoot him.  But what happens is you aim at an enemy, and then the crosshair switches to a different target when you scope in.  Once that happens, it's impossible to find your original target because the zoom is too high.  If the CSR had a 2X scope like the AR or Pistol scopes, it would be one of the best weapons in the game.

nice work me0120, but this weapon is just too dangerous in untrained hands the ammo just goes sooooo fast makes me crave a clip capacity mod for the snipe rifes.

Very nice guide.  I've using this gun a little more lately, run both piercing mods but I might try that alternate scope.

Thanks all for the kind words =]
Sorry for not updating the OP yet been procrastinating :P

@Miniditka can't speak for ecksbawks but on ps3 it works fine. The bouncing from the constant tap firing throws my aim off at times but I've never had that much of an issue with auto-aim with CSR compared to the Other more conventional sniper rifles.

I know Krogan are carnivores but sometimes they like cheese too.

Krogan Shaman + CSR + Incindiary rounds

For this build it's simple, close range mooks you spam shockwave while shooting them with the CSR for crowd control and Fire Explosions. Medium range you can use Warp to Stagger or detonate Fire Explosions. For Bosses you simply Warp -> CSR -> Shockwave until dead, huge BE's and a ton of "Warp" damage and since most of your weapon damage is from incindiary + warp you don't have to fret about poor Krogan passives. As long as you're on your toes Shockwave can prevent Phantom sync kills and you're durable enough to make mistakes.

It can easily take out a Gold Scion from full armor to death in one Warp -> CSR -> Shockwave combo using Inc. III and Sniper amp I.

When I first got it I hated it at first, what kind of sniper fires a beam for 2 seconds? But I recently put it on my Collector Adept and tried pulse-firing it I instantly fell in love.

Of course it's a decent weapon. It only sees use on my Asari Huntress though.

BW, CSR, Javelin, and kishock from best to worse for me. I've really started to enjoy the rifle with the Salarian infiltrator kit. Using the same level II and III consumables it's on par with other sniper rifles imho. Comes up short compared to the black widow but who wants to use the same damn gun all the time. Valiant used to be the only gun I used on any difficulty but I've since lost all use for it.

The reason the CSR gives me more problems is that its "effective range" with the scope is very small.  Too far away, and you're outside the weapon's range (not a problem for other SRs).  Too close, and you can't locate the correct target in your scope if the autoscope takes you to the wrong target.  I've tried the CSR many times, because I want to like it, but I find it too difficult to use outside of a couple of maps.

The CSR doesn't have Aim-Assist on Xbox. Don't blame it for your mistakes.

its like lolreegar with longer range and shorter clips. IMO

And unlike reegar, if you run the clip to 0 you're kinda f*cked.

"Hey, hey! Guys and Banshees! Ten second time-out? Please?"

L2P.

Yes I'm sure you have LITERALLY never ever ever run out of ammo using this gun.

GTFO with that nonsense.

Its not a bad weapon. Not boss but not bad either. Needs more range though. Makes me feel like its another assault rifle. A crappier PPR to be honest.

Save for the stupid range limit and scope, it's a fantastic weapon.

Just saying what it feels like to me, not that it actually is such a thing.
