To be honest I used to like Tali and the Quarians.

It's just that over time, all the Talimancers worshipping quarians like sacred cows really soured my impression and now Tali is always indirectly reminding me of the stupid crap they spew.

It's like, yeah dude, we get it. You like Tali. You don't have to barge into every single thread to sing her praises.

She was always kind of a bland one-note character though. Like Miranda, the only good thing about her is that she has a big ass in tight spandex.

Oh yeah. I did just go there.

@Iakus,
Geth killing envoys is canon covered in Retribution I believe, and I think Tali mentions it in ME1.

You see the same stuff about other characters too, "drowning in fountains of blue blood" comes to mind.

In this case, they probably just really don't like the Talimancers who worked very hard to earn their reputation...and are childishly trying to troll them.

Not really. While I do have an overall negative opinion of Tali-mancers in general (IN GENERAL), my opinions of her as a character are completely separate.

For example. I totally despise Ashley. She is my least favorite character. But I happen to get along very well with many of her fans. They are some pretty decent people.

I don't have as strong negative opinions of Liara. I don't like her and I do believe she has no practical purpose as a character, but I don't absolutely despise her the way a lot of people do (beyond believing that SuperMac keeps a shrine to her in his closet and 'childishly' dubbing her the Blueberry). There are many fans of hers that I think are total dirtbags in comparison. You see them from time to time. The Asari supremacists who think the Asari are the only race that can rule the cosmos.

I have a tendency to vehemently and strongly disagree with many of my fellow pro-humans who feel the same about humanity.

But as a I said, I try to keep my opinions of characters and fans separate. If I don't like a character, it's because I don't like the character, not because I want to be total dickass to the fans of the character.

Dignitaries seeking peace, shot down without a radio hail

When?  Where?  Are you sure that wasn't the Heretics?   Legion said that every confrontation between geth and quarians has ended wit hthe quarians attacking first.

And many of the ships use cutting edge technoligy

What kind of technology?  Weapons?  Barriers?  Coffee makers?

"The turians have more dreadnoughts, Their overall military force is larger than Heavy Fleet's by far.  But before this war began, we jury-rigged every quarian ship in the flotilla for battle.  Even our liveships have cannons"

What if the Reapers instead put the hub for controlling them not in a system with an entire enemy fleet in it?

And what if the Reapers seeded indoctrination devices around the Citadel, Tuchanka, or Sur'Kesh?

If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas

Legion was capable of deceit. It was carrying reaper code.

Live ships have spinal mounted thanix cannons (gee where did they get that tech... Tali?). Tali brought back stealth tech to the flotilla from the Normandy SR-1. And the upgraded shielding came from Sovereign, right Tali? (These suits have more pockets than you think.)

Nothing to worry about on the last one. The indoctrination devices wouldn't work because of physics... oh sorry MEU where space Image IPB trumps it.

If either the Geth or Quarians are blown out of the sky over Rannoch, it's hard to feel that bad for them.

The Quarians chose to try to exterminate the Geth and the Geth chose to return the favor. Sadly for the Quarians the Geth were better at it. So much spilled blood and hydraulic fluid in a war that has two sides that deserve each other.

It's too bad we got a choice that reflected in a cutscene instead of gameplay. A DAO-style "choose your side and fight with them" like the werewolves and elves would have been great.

Kill the Geth

Their entire race is a liability for the war effort. The Geth are only concerned by survival; they would gladly betray anyone just so save their own skin.

The quarians are the exact same way though, so that's not really a factor.

The whole mess on Rannoch is the result of Council bigotry. SOP for the Council is if you encounter an AI kill it on sight. I would guess this was the case long before the Geth since the Quarians got booted from the Citadel for violating the anti AI laws. With that sort of mentality is it any wonder the Quarians saw the Geth is boogeymen? Is it any wonder the Geth shoot everyone that enters their territory? Seriously, what did anyone expect?

The race I saved on Rannoch is the one you didn't save, because the race you chose stinks and deserves a horrible death. Also, my space waifu is better than yours, and if you didn't choose the same ending I did, you're a horrible human being. ;)

In all seriousness, I'm just going to go with this:

That is of course ideal, just... ugh. Why Reaper code?

As much as I rip on the Geth, the alternate Rannoch storyline I came up with didn't allow an option to exterminate them (though they could be enslaved). The Quarians could still get killed off, but that was more through shortsightedness on Shepard's part than any other factor.

Gonna have to agree with you there. I thought that the Rannoch arc hit a lot of the right emotional notes, but its engineering was way off in a few places. I mean 80% of my willingness to like and accept the true geth was their reverence for self-determination. "We're different than the heretics, we choose our own path over the Old Ones'."

I get that the geth accepted the Reaper handout because they were backed into a corner but it still left a bitter taste in the mouth.

I have done all 3 choices.

In all the playthroughs I only made peace once. The reason why is because for some reason Legion and Tali have to be in ME3 to make peace. Don't know why both are needed

When I get to the Rannoch mission I have enough assets for the breath scene so I don't really care who I pick. I just flip a coin on who lives. A lot of the times it's usually the Quarians that live.

Yeah, Patrick.... opened a plot hole a mile wide. Really. She's seen the technology. If that was you aboard a ship like that, and you went back to your flotilla, I'm sure you wouldn't tell your people about the wonderous tech and how it all worked, especially considering it was all on a Cerberus ship at the time. And she did give your Cerberus ship that shielding upgrade so it's kind of a quid pro quo, right? Since that upgrade saved lives, you could say it was a fair trade. Who knows, maybe she didn't "steal" it at all? Maybe she cut a side deal with Garrus for that thanix tech? That's not Shepard's decision to make, after all. What's Shepard going to do?

Shepard: Garrus, how did the Quarians get thanix weaponry? Was Tali in her snooping around?

Garrus: Shepard, that's Turian tech. Tali made me a very nice offer. I delivered.

Shepard: They also got the stealth drive!!!

Garrus: It also was Turian tech. Where do you think the Alliance got it? Now if you'll excuse me I've got to get back to these calibrations.

Shepard: grumble grumble grumble......
