Doesn't anybody like some mystery with their stories?

Why does everyone have to know everything that's going on at all times?

I like hanging plot hooks.  They engage curiosity and imagination.

Not every question needs to be resolved right away, or even ever, necessarily.

Mysteries add spice. :wizard:

For those of us who played HNF Wardens who make Alistair king, ask him to make an OGB with Morrigan, and marry him out of love, not politics, I find it hard to believe that she'd just wander off and leave him, unless she did have to go on her Calling.  It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility because supposedly Wardens who live through a Blight succumb to the darkspawn taint faster than those who live in more peaceful times, due to higher levels of exposure to the darkspawn. And let's face it, she did kill an archdemon. Going on her Calling after only 9 years is entirely plausible. But then I'd like to know that actually is why she disappeared. And, in this scenario, Alistair would certainly be able to tell Leliana that's why the Warden is gone.

Yes, I know that's only one ending scenario out of many, and I don't think I deserve special treatment. But aside from players whose Wardens did the Ultimate Sacrifice, saying they just disappeared by 9:40 Dragon seems to create more fan speculation than if the devs had just not mentioned anything at all about the Warden at the end of DAII.

So I admit, I would like a little more closure, even if it's just Leliana or Morrigan or someone else from DA:O mentioning it to us, or even a codex entry. I do kind of wonder whether the Hero of Ferelden/Orlesian Warden-Commander and the Champion of Kirkwall have been hand-picked by greater powers to play some role in the events of DA:I but I really don't expect them to be playable characters or even companions if that's the case.

They can do the same thing they did to Revan in TORtanic.

You mean The Old Republic, that highly succesful game that is still very popular?

Yeah, that would be good. Just kill off the stupid Warden and Hawke. Failing that, just never mention them again.

I'm still disgusted when I think about all those pathetic Revan fanboys and their endless whining. Revan was never a great character, people were just whining because they used to play as him and therefore felt entitled for him to have a happy ending.

Personally, I hope the Warden got torn apart by demons. Slowly. And Hawke was tortured to death by Templars or Mages. Take your pick.

I wouldn't mind it being resolved in any number of ways. If we're facing a singular Big Bad, I wouldn't mind us finding out that our Warden and Hawke were simply tracked down and killed by it.

Mysteries are OK, but they shouldn't be about where my characters are.  Bioware can mysteriously vanish their own characters all they want.

And a good mystery needs to have at least some clues about to inspire speculation.

I think it's more than a wink to the player, and that they'll eventually reveal what happened to them.

Well, if they resolve it, I hope it's something more elaborate then one or two lines of ambient dialogue. ("I heard the Champion and the Warden are a couple now. They have a love nest in the Frostback Mountains ...")

I think that DAI should have two optional side quests depending on the save imports. One side quest finds the warden waist deep in darkspawn dead with the warden's sword through the neck of a broodmother. The other finds Hawke in the mouth of a dead high dragon with Hawke's sword thrust through the dragon's brain. The main protagonists takes the bodies and pays homage by burning them on a hero's funeral pyre.

The DAI protagonist then goes out to create his/her own legend.

I would have been fine if DAO was the ending of my Warden cuz they had closure. But by saying he is now missing means that the closure is gone and now they have to bring him back in some form, not necessarily as a npc but they need to explain the disappearance.

They were kidnapped by dogs. Giant slobbering dogs from the Anderfels.

how are you gona resolve a plot-hole that big? my warden was DEAD.

meaning that either her sacrifice was irrelevent (and so was DA:O) or that bioware failed hard (once again) on DA's continuity

guess which one is the right answer

Yep i'd be fine with Hawke off sailing with Isabela & Warden ruling alongside Queen Anora. However when they add them as a dangling plot hook at the end of the 2 game i expect that fish to be  reeled in rather than left dangling.

I hope the Warden is confirmed dead in DA:I.

I do think they should eventually explain what happened to The Warden and Hawke, since at the end of DA2 they mention that they both disappeared. I don't need or want either of them to actually appear in DAI though.

Yes, I'd like to know. Then I like them to be shuffled off stage and not brought up again.

I don't think it needs to be explained, and I think it was a mistake on Bioware's part to imply that there was any sort of mystery surrounding either disappearance.

I don't need to see them reappear, but I hope their disappearances will be adressed (and I guess it will be).
I don't want to see them as a "two-eyed smog" like Malcolm Hawkes anyway.

Well, I'd like to avoid the bizarre existential crisis that seems to paralyze me anytime I am confronted by a protagonist I used to play as.

So resolve the mystery and then sing to me no more of Those People Who Used To Be Me But Now Are No Longer.

I'd prefer them not appearing tbh, but I would like at least a mention of what happened to them, kinda had my fill of speculations.

I don't want to see them, but I would like to know what happened to them and, if at all possible, maybe be able to choose what happened to them.
