Most PC sub20 times (and most of the general records) are recorded here. Xbox understandably seeks to create a separate record to list due to the obvious disadvantages (loading times, no pizza running, less precise controls, etc.).

My point is that it's not all skill obviously. I've done these solos probably twenty times over the past few weeks, and I've literally never had an escort.MasterReefa wrote...
Your point?landylan wrote...
Too much of it depends on lucky objectives.
milkAcat no understand your point JediMasterCoralReef.
Most common objective was devices btw... By a large margin.
Have you learned to ragequit the objectives on wave 3?
The time this saves...

There are only 5 people who have done so it's a lot more exclusive than this group
The problem with that statement is that, most of the original speedrunners (Team AreleX, zHHk, Sp3c7re, kronner) who could have went Sub-7 topped caring (either about the game [AreleX, zHHk, sp3c7re, Bechter] or about missile speedrunning [tattyUD, myself, HeroicMass, SlimJim, Navi]). The ONLY people I see squad speedrunning aside from the late-arriving PS3 players are you guys and Bechter's squad, though even Bech, Blade and Crapper stopped caring about the game recently. AND of the people who went Sub-7 all were PC players which gives you ease of RC, sniping and not to mention the conspiracy theories of you guys tipping the objective spawning in your favour... (Yes they did exist, I personally give you the benefit of the doubt in that area). Not to mention that, before that you guys were failing miserably at Jade speedrunning, it wasn't until PS3 gave you the strat that you got Sub-7 so it didn't actually involve any skill on PC's part aside from missile timing.
@landylan the problem with your statement is that EVERY console players who's went Sub-20 (myself included) has done it without optimal objectives and /w the exception of PsychoticBiotic who went Sub-18 yesterday have openly admitted that they made a lot of mistakes or just generally had bad spawns.

While I don't disagree with that statement, what I can say is this, the whole reason why missile speedrunning became a thing for a while was because PC started doing glacier with a strategy we developed and used. And then eventully both PS3 and XBox used that strategy and you don't see us complaining about that. I won't get into Godess however.LuckyBullet95 wrote...

Also at what point did I mention that it takes skill to speedrun?
To speedrun well all you need is committment and experience. Not so much skill

Very true... it takes knowledge to formulate a speedrun strategy. It no longer takes "skill" (dep[endind on your definition of "skill". Before AC and a 6th missile you used to have to actually fire your weapon. That Jade vid is a prime example of why most got bored of speedrunning, after a while it does just become pressing RT/R2/Right Click 9 times. Very boring now. I missed the good old speedrunning days when team synergy and player skill actually factored into the equation. It used to take 4 players who were good at the class they were playing to bounce off of other players (GI + QMI, Novaguard + Drell Adept etc.) they used to require good knowledge of RC [not a skill] and know how to effectively use RHA and strafing to deal damage without dying. Plus objectives waves were actually difficult, no missiling targets for example. Now we have enough missiles to clear 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 and still have four missiles for 3, 6 and 10. There's just no challenge there.

No rocket runs are the only speedruns that really take "skill" now and even those aren't the most fun things ever. I tried solo speedruns for a bit but I could never get the hang of soloing cerberus which is what you need to solo to get the fast times.
It does kinda suck that anyone can speedrun now unlike before

In what way would that be done? Coalesced hax? I know of one legit way to tip the objective in your favour and even that is not very reliable.

Agreed. You don't need Pizza or Escort x3 to go sub-20.

Has to be map specific, armored compartments, etc. Right?

Jade/Platinum/Cerberus/AC with 3x targets for objectives. In my case we quit at least 50 games before getting the ideal conditions necessary for sub-7, not an enjoyable experience IMO. I quit speedrunning right after that.

The word of all the PC players who say they had to grind jade is good enough for me to believe they didn't cheat. We have been on pace twice to beat their time and didn't get the objective we wanted on 10. Then everyone quit playing.
Like I said, unless someone openly admits to cheating (Air Quotes) or is a proven cheater (N7 Link) then I generally trust their word. Sub-7 was going to be possible, 360 new that once Sub-8:30 was achieved. The case of "well, they might have hacked the coalesced to force objective because they got 3 targets" is a completely unsupported claim, and, if there was support such a thing is an irrelevance anyways, objective grinding CAN get you three Targets objectives with enough patience. Coalesced or not, PC would be able to go Sub-7, so there's no point in arguing a cheat claim devoid of any evidence.

Only 125 repetitions needed for that.
It's very annoying though, I've contemplated haxxing objectives for Glacier solos but realized it's too much to bother. Now I just play out through most hacks (without glitching 'em).
I just wish (in case ME4 MP is anything like ME3 MP) that they make an official solo mod (or private games mod?) where you get an access to unlimited ammo and all the guns as well as the ability to pick whichever objectives you desire.

I said it a million times, objectives weren't amazing and the gameplay was only good (not great). Planning on actually committing to some Gold Slayer or BatSol Speedruns and some Platinum speedruns. Also I might give White, Jade and/or Goddess an attempt or two. Had a few Slayer attempts going into Wave 6 at the 8 minute mark /w 8 missiles before getting 4 Devices on Wave 6. One /w a well-done un-glitchable hack.

I've found that most pre-Wave 10 hacks are relatively easy to do in 70 seconds w/o OSPs on the Slayer or using one or two on other classes like the Trooper. Not a great time for the objective but the enemy all surround you so clean-ups pretty fast AND you can more easily work on boss units. I will however bleed on Devices just because of the simple fact that any time you can do with Devices you can do better with ANYTHING else.

The one thing that really hurt our time was when the banshee f*cked up on wave 5 and we had to clean up. It was nobody's fault (dunvi) but the game messed up and we lost like 8 seconds. We were way too tired after that to try and grind again so we were like stuff it and we posted that time.Geek Fest wrote...

The unfortunate thing was that was the only time that something like that happened on wave 5
