I sneak myself into that corner close to the dark room and then finish enemies that come around 1 by 1 (usually only Phantoms and Dragoons - I only play Cerberus) 1 Atlas might come around in time to get finished by Thermal Clip Pack boost. Wave 10 is just incessant Proxy Mine spam to keep Phantoms away.

Not sure how I'd rank the other three, but it feels like the one in the basement is probably the worst as most enemies spawn near you and deny you soft cover as well.

The recent fuss here for the past wee while about console Gold solo speedruns piqued my interest. Gave it quite a few tries, mainly with the Fury. My best time was about 22 minutes - pizza/pizza/ then 4 devices on wave 10, getting crappy late objectives a lot turns this into a bit of a grind.

I might give it another try but I'm not nearly as good as most of the usual suspects here so a sub-20 for me would involve inordinate amounts of luck.

For my own reference - How many attempts on average does it take you speed-runners to get a sub-20 time?

Can you pizza run on PS3 Cato?

Also, to the PC players, do you guys get stuck on cover as much?  I know the PC controls have a lot more finesse than the consoles.  Or does that make it even worse?

From the top of my head I'd say it happened 1-3 times at most (in the same run). Usually I don't get stuck in cover at all.

Basement - depends a lot. You might get lucky and have no enemies spawn in the hallway/LZ/Balcony (they'll usually funnel through the left hand side of the basement). If so it's one of the easiest the chokepoint on the basement ramp is either a killzone or a stunlock trap. Otherwise it might get a little hairy.

Balcony - Usually quite easy regardless. I believe it's the only hack on the map you can glitch solo. Could be wrong. Glitching it is a cakewalk. Not glitching it, still relatively easy. The hackzone is pretty big as far as areas you can use as cover and overall maneunerability. It's easy to keep a corner between you and at least one split spawn. Or if your lucky use the centre hack trick of forcing one-on-one confrontation as they come round a corner at you.

Hallway - It's the hack I was talking about in the Slayer game. Quite easy. Again that wall is great help in staying alive. Enemies will rarely attempt to flank you through the crates and it offers ALOT of covers. The place itself is also pretty decent for cover. It's the most consistently difficult but definately easier than a bad split spawn in the basement.

You could Asari dash up one of the hills and fall thru the map and come out on the other side invincible.  Havent seen anybody do it in over a year so they probably did plug that hole.

My point is that it's not all skill obviously. I've done these solos probably twenty times over the past few weeks, and I've literally never had an escort.

I'm just saying it's stupid to turn this into an "official" e peen club since so much rides on luck. I don't have a problem with speed running.

Quitting isn't in my vocabulary. I'm stilling trying to max out some of my UR's because the game doesn't like me.

I'm pretty patient, but if I do quit, I quit on wave 10 because it's too frustrating.

I just do it for the lulz. I might try console solo speedrunning if i get enough equipment, but my aim is to just finish a run, don't care if I get devices or whatever, since I don't have consumables to burn on lolbox. You can always just subtract 1 min - 90 sec for each devices objective from the final time anyway. And of course a whole bunch of random hipster **** pc speedruns once I sum up the motivation. cbf grinding Glacier records. I don't care much for GI/Fury/Kroguard all day.

I was looking at your slayer solo you did back in may. I'm curious about your build.

20 attempts without a single game without devices? I'm not buying it. You can get sub 20 with the other objectives.

I havent even done my own personal challenge. To stay awake longer than 20 minutes to do a solo.

I made a few half-hearted attempts at sub-20 on the PS3 a long time ago, my first try was 22 minutes with the asari guard. Objectives were escort/devices/area hack. I tried it twice more, both attempts got devices on wave 6, and I ragequit. Maybe I'll give it another go. I'm a mediocre player and not very patient, but I do have a lot of equipment to waste.

EVERY solo I've attempted in the last week has had 4 Devices on 3 or 6, haven't even gotten to ten because of it.That's at least 5 Slayer attempts on Gold and two Flamer Troopers on Platinum. PAIN... IN... THE... ****ING... ARSE...

I know that you can get sub 20 with the other objectives. I just don't get those objectives. The luckiest I've been is wave 6 targets and some hacks.

Literally zero escorts.
