Would you be willing to pay 70-80 bucks for a console game? What's your tipping point for a game you know you would want day one? It would seem strange I guess to be priced more than 1st party titles, so maybe it won't happen, atleast in the states.

As I said in the other thread, this was going to happen eventually due to inflation and the rising cost of development, I just didn't expect it was going to happen this quickly.

Of course if they get away with it, then a lot of other companies will not be far behind.

If it happens, I just won't buy them. I was okay when games went up from $50 to $60, and I've bought games for $80 before, but those $80 games came with extra content and such.

If base games start costing that much, I'll just stick with the games that don't cost that much.

If EA actually does charge $80 for new PS4 and Xbone games, I don't know if it will be funny or sad. Either way, it's no problem for me. In the current generation I only bought Dead Space and Bioware games from them, and if EA makes any games that I can't live without this gen, I'm sure I won't have to wait too many month before the price of a hard copy for PC drops below $40 on Amazon.

Or just buy them when they become cheaper.

As I said in the other thread, now we have to wait and see if the other producers are going to follow suit or, if not, EA will back down.

I guess we should have seen this coming, it is pretty funny that they got rid of online passes in anticipation of Sony and Microsoft implementing the online activation themselves, however with Sony refusing to do it and Microsoft needing to do a 180 EA needs to find a new way to **** the consumer base.

That being said with rising development costs and video games costing more to make I wouldn't mind having to pay more so long as the finished product justifies the increased cost, that being said EA has never been about moving the video game media forward as it has been about milking the consumers over everything they can get away with.

They will.  They all followed Activision when they raised PC game prices to $60 with Modern Warfare 2.

Depends on if the game looks worth it.
