Does anybody know if they ever released a newer fixed version of this yet, like they sadi they were going to? One that fixes all the continuity problems the original printing had?

No they haven't released a rewritten version.
I think after this amount of time we are going to have to accept that they never will. Simply wouldn't be worth their while given the limited market for it.
