Agreed. And really, to be honest, most people kept out of each other's business too.

More to the point, though: she cannot die in LotSB -- scrippted or through player-choice -- because the writers wanted her to become the Shadow Broker going into ME3, for better or for worse. Even if it's for the best, it's still plot-armor by definition.

Come on, everyone knew they where not oging to make her killable in the dlc. Bioware already pissed off the Liara fans in ME2, making her killable in the dlc would have been throwing a cannonball at a child.

So make it player-choice. Her fans can save her, and her non-fans can kill her. Everybody's happy!

For the record, I'm not bothered by not being able to kill her nor do I particularly want to. Liara's plot-armor is just a side-effect of a bigger problem: her character's special treatment. Case in point: why does Liara get a DLC and not VS?

Again, she was kept off the squad so she could be alive for ME3, making her killable in a dlc would ****** off her fans because there was no reason to sideline her. As for why there was no VS dlc, very simple. Liara is a very popular character, there's a reason her and garrus got the most content in the series.

She wasnt even injured.  Plot armor covers injury as well as death.  Besides we dont know if Sekat was already wounded or not, he could have already been injured, likely, before being killed.

Just saw the small cutscene with Sekat when he gets shot, he does not look injuried at all.

Thane, Tali, and Garrus.

Except Thane was actually designed with female fanservice in mind. Tali has dem hips or whatever.

I'll give you a point about Garrus though.

On a more serious note the funny thing about people debating about what waifu was better written or acted, is that the things they are arguing about ultimately weren't major factors in their LI choice.

Don't be an armchair psychologist like David.

Lets be honest: If all of the more popular LIs had been voiced by actors that gave Oscar-worthy performances and were penned by the world's best character writers, none of them would be popular if that was also paired with an unattractive character model.

Thane, Tali, and Garrus.

Thane was made for the straight female to romance.......

The 3 floor explosion as evidence for plot armor is a reach if I ever saw one. Plot armor can't just be any instance of a character surviving a catastrophic event. It must also happen in such a way that it strains believability. Other people survive the explosion itself, and there's quite a few mercs who just happen to be swarming the damaged floors. It stands to reason that a resourceful character can, I dunno, avoid the 3 floors that are destroyed. We have no indication of where the character is, or what the character is doing. This is not a good example, so its mention holds little value.

Ouch. Its true though, the power of headcanon I guess. Its a shame too, Kimberly Brooks has to much talent to be wasted like that.

If we're talking plot armor, nothing can beat exposed body parts in the vacuum of space force-fields.

That's not really plot armor; that's just poor design.

Let's not open that can of worms. David will be in here to argue about how 'characterization' trumps practicality and physics in those kinds of situations.

I'm afraid I can't do that hanar. I have found shepards true love. A forbidden romance, so taboo that even the reapers themselves cannot condone it.

That''s right my fellows on the bsn, I'm talking about....Husk Love.

Male Best - Miranda
Female Best -Miranda Kaidan (or Thane, except for, well, ME3). I'd like to do James too.

Male Worst - Tali
Female Worst - Garrus or Traynor.

Thane, Tali, and Garrus.

If Bioware had decided Quarians look like the Broodmother, hardly anyone would have romanced her. Actually she probably would have never been an LI to begin with, as its likely there never would have been hordes of fans clamoring her to be an LI following ME1. As much as people like to claim otherwise, the main motivator for the LI demand was dem hips.

I don't mean to single out Talimancers here, as I think the same holds true for Liara, Miranda, and Ashley. Had they been given character models that most people would find unattractive, I don't think any of them would have large fanbases. Or at least, not many fans who'd chose the character as their Shep's LI.

Thane and Garrus are fair points, but their LI arcs were aimed at a female demographic. I think its the male demographic that is mostly concerned with outward appearance, even if they don't publically admit it while engaging in a BSN waifu war.

Characterization probably trumps 'practicality' for clothing in a general case. However, the characters do not wear outfits in space because of characterization, like plenty of people on the BSN claim. That is just stupid.
