Traynor is by far my favorite romance.

I tried all of them, here was what I thought of the romances:

Ashley - Like Ashley herself, fairly forgettable.

Kaidan - A FemShep who romanced from start to finish had a lot of depth and nuance. I didn't think it made any sense with BroShep.

Liara - Even more bland and boring than Ashley.

Miranda - Did it by accident in ME2, but in ME3 it was actually good.

Tali - It did feel believable, and the scenes themselves are great, but Tali worked better as a friend.

Jack - Just like with Tali, I would have liked the scenes with Jack without the romance aspect. Just helping her deal was better. Not horrible though.

Jacob - Boring

Thane - This was deep, and Citadel made it deeper.

Garrus - Cheesy and completely unbelievable as a romance. The dance scene in the Citadel was great, though. Everything else, Garrus was a buddy, not a lover.

Cortez - Okay, but really fell short compared to the others. Okay set up in the club, but at the end, it wasn't much.

Traynor - Ditto for Traynor, amazing setup but lacked execution.

Allers - This was a relationship? </sarcasm>


If I had to sum it up in order...

1.) Kaidan
2.) Thane
3.) Tali
4.) Jack
5.) Miranda
6.) Ashley
7.) Cortez
8.) Traynor
9.) Garrus
10.) Jacob
11.) Liara

Four Shepards, none romance the same people.

1) Nolan (canon): None-Tali-Tali, High-EMS Destroy
2) Laura: Kaidan-None-Kaidan, Control
3) Jane: Liara-Garrus-Garrus, High-EMS Destroy
4) Jayne: Ashley-Jack/Kelly/Miranda-None, shot the brat

My canon Shepard romanced Liara and was even faithful through ME2.

As for worst romance... That's gotta be Jacob, or Allers if you count that as a romance.

I'd say Tali is the best romance, by the looks of it.

This is from someone who has only ever romance Ashley and Liara, so no bias from me.

Speaking for myself, the closest thing my canon Shepard has to a relationship is his fondness of the M-92 Mantis.

In general, I'm afraid asking a group of people "What's the worst romance?" is doomed to be as edifying as "What's the worst color in a bouquet of balloons?"

I read up on possible romances for Mass Effect 2 when I first tried Mass Effect for the first time. I play on PlayStation 3, and so, we didn't have Mass Effect then only Mass Effect 2. I looked on the Mass Effect wiki site and found that alien romances were possible. When I saw that someone named Garrus was a romance option, I just went for it. I don't know, I liked something that wasn't original. I knew that Kaidan was a possible romance option, but I just didn't like being with a human, but a Turian, that's another story in the galaxy you don't hear every day. And even till today, I still didn't romance anyone else though. Would have gone for a Krogan romance if possible. :-)

Don't care for anyone else. Never tried them and never will, beyond romancing Ashley in ME1.

I think all the romances are nice and meaningful in their own context.  The only one that is really "bad" to me is Jacob's because of ME3.  However his ME2 content is good and I am very disappointed with how they treated him.  Still, I prefer just being friends and getting the brohug from him at the end of 2.

My personal favorite romance is Liara's across all 3 games with Garrus's 2 game arc a close second.  I love watching the Liara romance go through its highs and lows across the games and at the every end Shep and Liara are still there together.  The Garrus romance has the wonderful feeling of two old friends who realized that there was no one else they felt more for than the other. 

But as I said, I like them all and any favorites just come down to personal taste.
