Did You Play As The Same Class In This Game?

the same class you picked as your Warden in Origins or did you want something different and picked the opposite of what your Origins character was?
im thinking about doing this but im not too sure i have a weird habbit of starting a playthrough over alot of times for stupid reasons. im a Rogue in Dragon Age 2 im enjoying it very nicely kinda of a glass cannon but hes powerful i but the mages look so cool and even in the trailer Hawke is a Blood Mage from the looks of it and im kinda wanting too carry the story the trailer gave out. but by doing this im kinda wanting too so back too Origins and become a mage in there as well but i just finished Origins i did a 100% playthrough by doing pretty much everything and same with the DLC it would suck soo much if i returned to Origins not like its not fun just . . i did everything there was too be done.

At the moment i restartyed Da2 with a 2h handed warrior.
Damn i LOVE da2's combat. It is FANTASTIC.
I ve been managing nightmare difficulty this time and i love the challenge.
My warrior, isabella as a tank, varic and Anders.

Being a warrior Warden or Hawke simply has the perk of always having a tank available (especially in DA2 as the only tank is Aveline)
Being a rogue Warden or Hawke simply has the perk of always having someone to open locks and look for traps and being able to completely ignore the lockpicking talents on rogue party members
Being a mage Warden or Hawke simply has the perk of not having to bring another mage, or being able to bring an extra healer.

I've only ever been a mage in DA:2. I love the play style so much that I don't want to try anything else. Although a two-handed warrior might be fun. But Carver is such a fantastically complex character and I enjoy the relationship between him and Hawke that it would be hard not having him along.

DA:O and DA2 combat really aren't that different behind-the-scenes. Even a lot of the same talents exist, just tweaked, and the rules are mostly the same. Attack animations were sped up to give the game a faster feel, I think, though to me it just came off as alienating as I had come to expect realistic combat from Dragon Age, not Dynasty Warriors-esque combat. But anyhow, that was balanced out by lowering per-hit damage to get about the same DPS (and the game still shows you DPS).
The only big difference I have noticed are closing attacks (though I don't like the way they're executed, it gives more reach to melee characters) and that each enemy is considerably weaker (less talents for Normal enemies) but there are a lot more of them (another change I'm not in favor of).
Honestly, I'd say DA:O Nightmare was more challenging, but it wasn't always a good thing. Being rammed by an Ogre Alpha repeatedly with absolutely no way to stun it or get out of the way wasn't fun, nor was being attacked by a chained overwhelm of a dozen wolves, or picked up by a Dragon three times in a row.
As for the 'combat' itself, it still remains relatively the same - just in a new environment.
Edit: Oh, and for the topic, Mage both times. Arcane Warrior Blood Mage specializing in Primal for DA:O, Blood Mage Arcane Warrior Battlemage for DA:A with debuffing Entropy skills (got rid of Primal because of all the personal AoE buffs like Elemental Chaos) and Force/Blood Mage for DA2 (spread about Primal, Spirit, Elemental and Arcane).

You mean for the player character? No, I don't really care what my character's class is because in combat I usually control the mage or mage party member regardless. But yes, I do like sticking with mages because they can heal and AOE and stuff.

Not really, the Player Character is always stronger than their companions of the same or different class. Significantly stronger.

You can't compare DAII to Dynasty Warriors, they are vastly different games and combat is not as similar as you say it is. If this was DW you would be hitting the X (or square) button over and over getting 50+ hit combos racking up thousands of kills, which never happens in DA. Also, of course some talents, spells, specializations, etc. carried over its a sequel and they were improved upon.
