You're bashing a game over the engine they're going to use?

Right.

Sky is falling. On the bright side, our hair will look great while it does.

I still can't believe anyone would still be "angry" over ME3, I've been playing ME since about 6 months or so after ME1 was released, of the 3 - ME3 is the mutts nuts, when i do a total trilogy run I love playing ME1 and 2, they are both amazing, but when i get to ME3 - it's by far an away the best of the 3.

The endings (for me) fit, they work, and the point is now to accept them, they will never be changed, i cannot see them retconning it - it's too big now - if you're still mad about it all, maybe it's time to move on to play something else. Leave ME to those who appreciate and love it like me! :D

ha your complaining about a new engine that looks beautiful just because it was designed for battlefield 4 and you think that ME4 will be like that because of an engine? are people running out of things to complain about

Why do people do this? This is probably one of the worst cases of jumping to conclusions. The engine will not determine the game that you make.

Most gamers aren't very smart.

OP and research?:o

Here is my favourite example of his "research"  from this thread about James Vega.

But James Vega... Vega... there is the weird one.  Vega applies to: a star, a plane, a car, an aircraft corporation, and a class of rocket.  As a name: wikipedia has a grand total of 15 people with that for a surname, and at least one is a pseudenum.  This is in my opinion a case of what I like to call "future name syndrome", where a writer who is told he's working in the future gives a character an alien sounding name because "it's the future!"

When OP want to bash something in ME3 and now ME4, real facts are just nuisance to him.

so at this stage we can all agree speculating without knowing pretty much anything about ME4 is a blatant waste of time. so let's let this crappy thread die.

I've forgotten more about games than you probably know.  The fact that you can't understand that an engine has inherant strengths and weaknesses is proof of that.

Purely on the fact that I have made 2d practice stuff using 3 different programming languages, I can say that using different tools under the hood will produce differing results.

When you are so big expert, OP, tell me why games like Batman: Arkham City, Alpha Protocol, Remember me, Bioshock Infinite or Dishonored are so different when they are based on same Unreal Engine 3, which was developed by Epic Games for Gears of wars?

By logic of your first post I would supposed that all of these game have to resemble GOW at some level.

Or there is some secret anti-RPG restriction or something like that in Frostbite?

The thing is, ME3 makes me angry. I don't stop being angry about it, because whenever I think about it, it reminds me why I was angry in the first place.

It doesn't have to do with genre necessarily: it has to do with what an engine is designed to do.  Unreal 3 is a strong engine for character-based interaction games (shooters, 3rd person action, 3rd person stealth, etc), which all of those games are.

Valve's Source engine is designed with a  strong emphasis on physics and object interaction, but you'll note that a shooter produced in the source engine "feels" different from one in another engine.

Frostbite for its part was designed to be a product of this generation in console gaming.  That means it is designed to focus on presentation, which is fine, but it is also one of the least relevant elements in a game like Mass Effect.  I'd also argue that it is one of the least relevant aspects to making a generally good game, since graphics and sound are presentation.  You can make a bad game look good, it will still be bad.
