So, a 1st or 3rd person shooter game will be using a 1st or 3rd person shooter engine? What's the issue again?
You want bioware producing a shooter because... why again? It isn't their strength.

But Mass Effect 3 actually had decent gameplay.
By what measure?
As an RPG it's non-existant, since all classes are essentially identical in single player and all problems are solved with maximum firepower.
As a shooter, it's middling at best, with notable balance issues, and problems with precision aiming.
it also rewards absolutely brain-dead tactics, for instance: making sure your power regeneration is at 200 percent, and being rewarded with spamming powers.

And I find that an absolute shame considering we are good for shooters thanks. You can't walk 10 paces in modern AAA gaming without tripping over shooter gameplay and big muscly men with guns suffering from not-gay syndome.

Yeah, but Mass Effect has always been a shooter series.
No it bloody well has not: Mass Effect 1 was an RPG that happened to use a shooter framework. Its combat was entirely stat-based, which is why shooter fans called it "clunky".

How about just one?
Perhapse you should take some refreshers on reading comprehension, or scrolling a bit farther down, person with a history of being an obstinant troll.
You didn't mention any engine specifics there either. Just some vague blather about strategy.
Or have you given up all pretense about having something useful to say about the engine? If so, why? I thought you were supposed to be, like, an expert, man.

Well forgive me for finding using my brain fun, as opposed to being wooed by gasoline explosions.

I pointed out, repeatedly now, that Frostbite was developed with an emphasis on presentation in mind over other factors. I find presentation to be the least important aspect of a game. Therefore: I feel that ME could be far better served by other pieces of software.
How is this difficult to understand?

I'm actually going to agree with this. An RPG-shooter hybrid works, an RPG dressed up in shooter clothing does not.

Well done, twisting words, is it a shocker to you that some people like to exercise something other than their thumbs?
You'd probably say that Civilization IV was "teh wurst game eva!" for being precisely what it was designed to be.

Thankyou, admittedly: I come out on the opposite side it seems by wanting more RPG as opposed to less, but still.

Why not? Both have an experience they are trying to deliver. And Civilization isn't even an RTS.

Because you still can't come up with a single thing which Frostbite needs that it doesn't have and Bio can't add.
By your "argument" ME1 couldn't have worked since UE3 didn't look crappy.

So XCOM is a shooter then? It has guns.
So Final Fantasy VII is a shooter then? It has guns.
So Napoleon total war is a shooter then? It has guns.
So portal is a shooter then? It has A gun.
