I suppose you've got some, but it's traditional to say what the reasons are rather than to rely on our ESP to divine them.

Connection issues, unstable servers, crappy tech suppose and that just my own personal experience.
And while i am sure steam also have those problems,i have yet to encounter them.

Such an ickle sycophant these days Alan! Yours is a silly little question, but I'll play. Steam has a better portfolio of games, stronger sales (wasn't it David DeMartini who claimed recently that sales "cheapen intellectual property"?), larger community, more robust servers (SimCity anyone) and less intrusive DRM. And this coming from someone who has never, nor will ever, touch the thing.

Yep, I sure hate not having to carry around my 300+ games and being able to install them anywhere in the world that has wi-fi. Damn I hate it when Steam prices everything 75% off, the nerve of those people.

I'd rather have to carry around 300+ games than use Steam. I don't care about discounts or sales, I'm not putting money on the internet. You don't own any of those 300+ games on Steam. You pay for access to play them, not to actually own the copy of the game. I also hate not being able to play my games or install my games due to a lack of internet access. Not everywhere in the world has internet access, and that is an inherent flaw in Steam's design.
Discounts are not so amazing. You can buy cheap games if you shop around, or buy used copies. Of course, Steam got rid of all that.
If you have physical copies of 300+ games, then you can install them anywhere in the world, with or without Wi-Fi. Unless they are on Steam of use a similar system like Origin.

I can get my mods without Steam Workshop. I have been able to do so way before Steam existed.

I don't care. Do what you want. But I don't want to be forced to use a service I don't want to use. If Steam was optional, fine, I'd use it. If it was like Xfire, where I didn't have to have it to play games, great. But being forced to use it and it's DRM is terrible. If they get hacked, if I get banned for something stupid, I lose all my games, all the money I have invested into those games and Steam.

What if I want mods, or an easily upgradable platform, and something that I can use, not ONLY for gaming, but also for work or email or youtube. I don't want to have to waste money on something because you people think Steam internet required DRM should be forced upon everyone else. Xbone (I assume that you are referring to xbox1) requires an internet connection. I can't get mods on console now, can I. I can't make my own mods on console. PC should be a free platform. When Gabe N went off at Microsoft for Windows 8 restricting the freedom of the PC, he and all his Valve fanboys failed to realise that they strangled all hope of freedom on the PC back when they forced Steam DRM down gamer's throats, and sweetened the deal with cheap access to games. Because I don't own those games technically.

Exactly who is forcing you to follow the law? Also, to answer your question, Valve, and companies that release their games, and having them require Steam.

No, the question was 'who is forcing you to use Steam'?

Why don't you get an Xbox one? There is really no difference between it and steam.

Let me explain it to you in simple terms. I want to play games like Skyrim, Empire Total War, and Sins of a Solar Empire. If I want to play these games, I am forced to use Steam. Now why do I have to use Steam to play these games? Because Valve and the Companies that release their games through Steam make the game require Steam to be played. Therefore, if I want to play the Game, Valve and the Game Company force me to use Steam in that sens. Now yes, technically no one is pointing a gun at my head and screaming "use Steam!" But I am certain that there are things in your life that you don't want to do, and don't have to do, but you do anyway. Do you have to pay taxes? Technically not. Of course, if you want a reasonable standard of living, you probably have to. Do you want to go to work? Maybe not, and no one is forcing you to, but you do so anyway.

Pay your money and take your choice. Don't like Steam? Don't use it. Don't like Origin? Don't use it. See how that works?

You are basically forcing me to choose between playing a game, and not using Steam. If I don't use it, nothing is going to change. It takes more than one person to make a company change their ways. Why is Steam or Origin so essential to a game? Why do we need it? Why does being forced to use it in order to play the game appear to be such a good thing to you?

How about you spend a little more time trying to understand the difference between being 'forced' and 'required' to do something before you have another go at trying to put words in my mouth Sumthing?
