It was a little niggle of mine in DA:II that when we saw Zevran he didn't mention the Warden, even if they were in a romance. I'd like a bit of continuity here.

Wasn't that an import flag bug?

Huh, it actually is...Never knew that. Well hell.

Thanks for the info!

While I don't *approve* of Fenris' attitude with Merrill, I understand what's behind it. She sets him off like nothing else because she's a blood mage, and more than that, she gave up her clan/family because of blood magic, from his point of view. So not only does she represent something that terrorizes him, he resents that she willingly gave up family and home; things he desperately wants to have again. His search for his family is woven into his character arc from the moment you meet him. So his venom towards Merrill is coming from the fact that she hits all his most sensitive buttons. That said, there were times I wish I could have told him and Anders both to stop bothering her. And for what it's worth, when Sebastian suggests to Fenris they should turn Merrill and Anders over to the templars, Fenris makes it clear he won't have any part in it, which is likely more for Hawke's sake than anything, but still.

I'm not sure if it's just that, though. Someone managed to fix the romance flag more or less, but then Zevran always ends up acting like the Warden did the ultimate sacrifice and died. I don't know if that's still flag-related. I thought it meant that DA2 Zevran himself was broken as well. Either way, they ruined it.=]

Yeah, and remember when you bring Fenris to the gallows for the first time? Despite his feelings for mages, he doesn't approve of the gallows - saying it feels more like a prison.

Honestly, I never disliked Merrill, but her character was incredibly naive. She ended up costing the life of her keeper. Every single move on Merrill's part - throughout DA2 - was not for the good of her clan. Despite all their warnings, she was very stubborn and downright pigheaded about it. Anders saw it - he hated her. Fenris too. Likely the only thing they agreed on. Honestly, I think the way Anders treated Merrill, especially after the keeper's death, was way colder/crueler than Fenris' attitude.

Wouldn't it be interesting to show Fenris if he was sedated with lyrium overdose? A befuddled and mindless servant in a small palace in Tevinter.

There's only one way Fenris can become even more broody.

He gets brutally mutilated and gets a sweet sword.

I loved Fenris, complicated, sweet, fragile and fierce all at the same time. So I thought of a possible future for him and my Hawke;

After leaving Kirkwall, Fenris and Hawke remained at each other’s side , stopping briefly only to rest , eat and to help free slaves, and mages along the way. Fenris, although still wary of mages has accepted that not all mages are bad and will resort to blood magic. He understands now that the plight of slaves and mages are very similar in that it is always wrong to strip a child away from their parents, that all deserve a chance to be free. This understanding only came after the birth of their first child, Imawyn, who was born a very powerful and special mage. Fenris loved her from the first moment he saw her. He knew at that moment he would do anything for her and that if anyone tried to take her from them, he would rip them to shreds. It was also then he finally understood how similar forcing a mage to go to the circle was to slavery. Hawke and Fenris also quickly learned after her birth that their children would be special. Unlike Fenris, who endured a very painful process for his Lyrium tattoos, Imawyn was born with the Lyrium tattoos all over her body, passed directly from father to daughter. With this & the powerful magical gift her mother also passed to her, even at a very young age she is able to perform spells and magic no other mage has ever been able to perform before. Trained by her mother; by 10 years old she is deadly and the most powerful mage the world has ever known. She can enter and exit the fade at will & take as many others she wants with her at a time. Unlike a “dreamer” as the Dalish call it, she is not affected by the temptations of demons and has an uncanny ability to block their influence. She can even control demons for short periods of time, and sense them and expel them from other mages. Demons therefore do not seek her, but avoid her as even they do not understand and fear her abilities. She can also bring back mages who have been made tranquil, and this talent alone has made her a target of the Templars which with their lack of understanding of her gifts; fear her. She also never needs to replenish her mana as her direct line to the fade constantly replenishes it. It was also with her birth that Fenris and Hawke realized they could never stop moving, and that they needed to teach their children how to defend themselves in an ever more hostile world if they were to survive. With the birth of their second child; Maccon, once again the Lyrium tattoos were passed from Fenris to their son. Maccon, which means “son of the wolf”, was born a rogue, and also showed abilities and gifts no other rogue has ever had before. He can vanish & teleport himself, along with one other if needed, to any place he can see or has seen before. He does not enter the fade, but does this by traveling at great speeds between the fade and the physical world. He also can slow time for brief periods, and can sense the presence of other beings. Even tell if they are friend or foe from a distance. He also has an endless supply of stamina. Trained by his father in advanced weaponry and fighting, along with some assistance from Varric when he could, Maccon has mastered fighting and stealth techniques well beyond what most rogues would dream of acquiring in a lifetime, all by the tender age of 7. Maccon is the pride of his father who loves his son’s mischievous nature. Hawke and Fenris love their children and know they will someday be unable to protect them from the world around them. A world that is changing, and a land in turmoil with Dragons darkening the sky, and mages now fighting back in vast numbers against the Templars. For now they will stay hidden, and protect their family until their children are old enough and strong enough to fend for themselves…..the inquisition is coming.

No returning characters were already ridiculous in da like in thedas lived only 500 peoples and we already have at least few characters from other products like leliana or morrigan so no few characters should be fenris was no one even not worth mention he was like sigrun he don't have importat role and isn't important or famous so he isn't worth mention.

Fenris might not be encountered (common if you blaze through content without doing side-quests), he may be encountered but not recruited (many players will resent his anti-mage) or killed (you would have to travel with him a lot to form strong relationship and/or side with templars for him to live).

Too many variables. He might show up in a side-quest if you're lucky, but he won't be a companion, he won't be a DLC focus and he can't be a story element.

I'll just assume him and Hawke and Anders and Tallis all walked into the same black hole and died.

Over all I would like to know what became of him, Isabela, and Aveline. (Though I would bet money Aveline is the dead women in the new trailer.) (of course my Hawke and Merrill are living happily ever after in their mountain hideout)

Why would Aveline be dead?

After everything I heard about Fenris from around here, I was not expecting to like him much.

But I did. He's far from a favorite, but I'm cool with him, for the most part.

I typically like the drama involved with a companion turning on my PC over some big decision. It happened twice with my canon Warden, and I considered doing the same with Fenris and my canon Hawke. In the end, though, I felt there was still a lot more of a story to be told with him and didn't want to throw that away. So, he lives... even if Hawke's argument isn't very convincing.

Naturally, I'm plenty curious what becomes of him post-DA2. Cameo or side-quest, don't care... whatever makes sense.

fenris is a douchbag with serious emotional issues i'd rather not deal with. It was cool to have him on my side, but i hated dealing with his rigid convictions. and it was always the same **** with him. If i never see fenris again, i'd be too soon. If there was a cutscene where he heroically dies, that would satisfy me.

I did not like Fenris. The character came off as immature, shallow, and one-dimensional. He was a Joss Wedon stereotype in the worst way possible. Cosmetically, he served as a constant reminder of the inexplicable change to the elf character model.

I love Fenris to death and would also like to know what happens to him. However, considering David's implications here:

What effects the lyrium would have on Fenris is completely up in the air. Fenris was a test case by Danarius, the first of his kind, so anything can happen ... . It may make him crazy, may give him added powers, we don’t know. Also, since Danarius isn’t around anymore to “maintain” the lyrium (Gaider’s word), it could become unstable. Gaider imagines lyrium like mercury.

I'm not sure I actually want to know.

Also, considering what happened with the import of Zevran, no. Actually, I can say that I don't want any of my romance NPCs to return. The only exception I can make for this is Alistair, and that is only because of the whole king thing, which really sets him apart from all other LI.

That's interesting. I didn't know Gaider said that.

But basically my Hawke, after losing her parents and sister to death, her brother to the Wardens, then having her friends all leave her, and having everything she ever did blow up in her face, could end up losing her lover to lyrium poisoning?

Dark.

I like it.
