The level of pointlessness in this thread seems to be increasing rapidly.

Well this is good news. The only thing that you should take away from this is that the game's script is done for the most part. We are one step closer to see what this new game ME game is about and probably we can expect a teaser trailer in the next 6 months.

Hyping yourself up too much is not the best strategy. Just look at what most of you expected from ME3 - which was a brilliant game - but many of you turned sour when played it because you did not get what you expect... and of course most of you took the marketing slogans way too seriously. Also for the people who are interested in the game in advance there's a long wait ahead.

But behaving like some broken heart teenager after a break-up and being butthurt about the new ME title in advance is very stupid. For f.'s sake, it's been more than a year now. Time to ease up a bit... are ME and Bioware your lovers or something? Just wait and see instead of turning every single thread into a heart broken, whimpering about the ending of the ME trilogy. It's most ridiculous and stupid after such a long time.

I am always astounded by the amount of negativity that permeates most gaming forums.

Yes, I am one of those who were utterly wrecked by the ME3 ending but come on, guys, at least give these people the benefit of the doubt. BioWare seems to be one of those all too few companies that actually listen - how many other studios can you name where a developer stops by the forums, says hi and is willing to answer, to an extent, the questions posed by fans and respond to their suggestions?

Not to mention this is the first major project for the studio so I think it can be assumed they are going to be cautious and try to make it as best they can. How can you look at that tweet, filled with genuine joy of a person who loves and is excited by what they do and your first reaction being "another damned PR stunt!"

Nobody is going to argue that ME3 had problems. And yes, it was in the parts that would stick with the player the most, but, and I am fairly certain I am not only speaking for myself, the rest of it, though not flawless, was pretty damned good.

What I am trying to say is that perhaps we, the gamers, have become a little too jaded. But much as you are not going to stop dating or talking to people because one person was being an @ss to you, you should not automatically harp on everything that comes out of development of a brand new game because of what its predecessor got wrong. Keep your expectations lower, be cautious, nobody is going to take that away from you, but at least try to consider the other side and, even if you disagree, try to be civil about it.

Video games are, more than anything else, about enjoyment, about joy. I really want to believe not everyone has forgotten that. Because lately, all the internet spews is bleakness and hate. Come on, guys, we are better than this.

The "meh" is flowing strongly through me.

Not because I hate Bioware, but because my interest in Mass Effect ended with Shepard's story.

It's not a matter of being jaded. There's plenty reason for people who liked the games Bioware made before to be very disappointed by the direction they are taking now. And while perhaps Bioware has listened to their fans (the degree of which is hotly debated), there has been precious little interaction, not even a "hi" over the last year and a half... not surprising when you have Bioware employees openly moaning about the toxic environment they allowed to fester because instead of facing criticism, they ran and hid.

Now, with that said... it IS rather sad the number of faces that sign in to the BSN every day, KNOWING they are going to be pissed off, KNOWING it's going to hurt them, KNOWING it's going to anger and enrage them... and they do it anyway, even a year and a half later. There really comes a point where if you can't get over something and move on... it's your problem, not Bioware's. We are long past that point.

There isn't enough information to either get excited about it or to complain.

I have no opinion on the next Mass Effect game.

This, more or less.

Same reaction I've had to the new Star Wars movies, to the upcoming Ender's Game adaptations, the continuing Halo and CoD franchises...

I dunno, why don't we wait until we see something come of it before y'all complain?

Waiting for more information before ccomplaining is just too mainstream. We here are the hipsters!

No definitive information on the next game to actually be optimistic or pessimistic. My outlook right now is just wait, see , smile and nod.

I know ME3 had its issues. But I still can't help getting really excited for this.Since the end of the ME trilogy nothing has been able to get me as emotionally invested. So even this "news" gets me excited :D

I am excited they are making another game in the MEU, but I am not judging a game before I see more substantial info. I loved ME1, ME2, and ME3 (with every single DLC installed on each game), even if ME3 had a weak ending.

If I get attacked for not hating ME3 or NME, so be it. I know I'm excited and that's all that matters to me. But don't worry, I won't proclaim this to be video game perfection yet, it's simply too soon to say

I can remember a time when I would have been "Wow Mass Effect News", now I find I don't really care about "hype" anymore.

After all the false claims regarding ME3. I will wait until the game is out, and the reviews (Fan) are in before I look at the game.  If it gets good reviews from the fans then fine, if not will not bother.

To be honest, those tweets have nothing to do with what's going on in the next game and everything to do with those 2 employees being stoked about what they're doing for the next game. I'm happy to see employees who are having a good time.

Somewhat more cynically, I'd question how much these employees can actually say on Twitter without approval from PR.

Those tweets have nothing to do with either. Not with  what is in next game and not with what those people really feel about ME3.
Just a PR. Nothing more.

After what Bioware did with ME3, ANYTHING Casey Hudson says can pretty much guarateed be a lie. I do not care what he says, I will never again trust him. Period. All of that hype, all of those lies, all of that smack-talking.... and ME3 was a crapbomb of a game.

I'm also not pre-ordering anything, ever again. Too many lies, too much BS.

Those morons wouldn't know a good story if it bit them on the nose. If Bioware wants to re-ignite the Mass Effect series, they should consider both new management and new lead writer positions.

Very cautiously.

^^ I'm going with this.  I'd like to believe they've learned what worked well and what didn't work well, what to do and what most certainly not to do from the responses and backlash over elements of ME3...but I'm not fully convinced.  I'm going to sit back and say 'we shall see'.

Well, I would write something about how great it is they're feeling positive about what's going on.

Pretty sure Wall Street feels pretty positive about stealing from the taxpayers. That doesn't make it a good thing that they do.
