I dunno, why don't we wait until we see something come of it before y'all complain?

Waiting for more information before ccomplaining is just too mainstream. We here are the hipsters!

I was scrolling through this thread, thinking "I need more information before I get excited or think about things, even though I quite enjoyed Mass Effect 3 and did not feel the sky fell on me after playing it." But you know what, Pirate? You're right.

I demand information now. How many characters? Who can we romance? Will we fight geth again? I want to fight geth again. Who's voice acting? I hate that voice actor. Can we play as a....

" the game will retain the franchise's open-mindedness when it comes to gender options and GLBTI-inclusive stories"

That's new.

I have good faith in bioware. Mass effect 3 and da2 get a lot of flack BUT they are great games.
Da2 gets critisised as a button masher, yeah right, play it on nightmare and you can deffinately see the amount of tactis and wise choices on talents.
With da2 (i KNOW it was rushed) bioware tired something new, the concept about a more personal and not a CLICHE savetheworld story was great.
Every talent has it's usefuleness. Damage only talents only get you so far.

I don't care if i disagree with where they take the game. I will buy it anyway, even if the reviews are not favourable. The best thing for me at the moment is that there will be other games worth buying to fill in the void. I think it will be out in something like March 2015.

I groaned at that one, great more pandering.
Well I suppose it would be tolerable as long as there is nothing resembling Anders/Fenris.  If there is something resembling them then those characters will be, options permitting, left behind.

Eh, I didliked DA2's "What sexuality are you?  Great, so am I!" mentality.  Mass Effect (even ME3) did well in being inclusive while retaining distinct sexualities.

Of course, the overall balance was wonky to say the least.  Poor straight FemShep, for example.

The "meh" is flowing strongly through me.

Not because I hate Bioware, but because my interest in Mass Effect ended with Shepard's story.

Sheps story had an end?

Well he kind of died, so...

Does anything they say mean anything anymore.

They blatantly lied about DA2, then ME3 and I doubt this will be any different. DLC sales showed them that they can lie to consumers and get away with it over and over and over.

Hype: Casey Hudson specified that ME3 story would be about figuring out the mystery behind the Reapers and a figuring out, throughout the game, how to defeat them.

Reality: Ultra convenient magical super weapon lands on lap out of nowhere in the first hour of the game.

Hype: Casey Hudson says game will definitely not have ABC endings.

Reality: He didn't lie completely... game had RGB endings.

The are well trained liars. Whatever they claim, assume the opposite.

At best this makes me continue to be apathetic, this little tidbit is practically nothing information-wise and while I'm not going to jump on the judgment train just yet, I certainly will be holding back on buying anything from bioware until I have seen the reviews.

Yeah we'll see how great the story and main pro is after the game comes out because ME3 was also suppose to be so rocking but they pulled rank and did a dues ex ending that went against their own games rules and lore. Next round plan out however many games you're doing before you start game one and keep your own rules through the whole series see bioshock infinite on how to stick to your own story the entire length of the game love it or hate it thats how you should be doing not just one game (because lets face it anyone can do that once) but over a trilogy.

There is no hype or hype train, only fear as to how they will ruin the Franchise this time to knock it lower than it currently is.

The more a game is hyped the more I feel it won't be good. Purchase experiences and marketing courses have made me highly skeptical of anytime someone tells me product is good without hands on interaction. I think about what kinds of games have had similar marketing campaigns in the past and what kind of audiences are most receptive to those techniques. The brief statements/remarks that Bioware has made about the next Mass Effect looks like they will continue to not make a sequel to the first and true Mass Effect I have been waiting for. The balance of qualities for their games has changed and I don't think the know how to meet the minimums set by the game that made their name mean something to the older fans. I like when things improve and adapt rather than abandon. Like when Warhammer 40k gets a new edition. Some players change armies to whatever looks better in the edition while others keep the same army but change the make up of units used. Take a guess which ones do better.

It all depends on the next DA. Which we already know will be out before the next ME. If DA lives up to it's hype (and hope) then I won't have any issues putting Bioware back on my auto-buy list.

I love both the DA and ME universes. So I hope Bioware can pull it out of their a**.

We're really defining hype down these days. Saying anything positive sbout eorking on the game is hype?
