I agree, only to see how it is accepted in the media. I want to see people debate and/or complain about polygamy in video games and how it 'effects our society.'

Im sure the Male gender would bear the brunt of whatever blacklash would inevitably come if polygamy was allowed in a videogame. It's also important to remember that everyone has a "moral compass" and the things they create would usually reflect their opinions on the matter wether or not the creator tried to remain ambiguous. For example, Serendipity and the way Hawke looked at him/her. So the question becomes, do we really want the creators to give us their perception of polygamous relationships in a videogame?

We have yet to hear of any polyamorous relationship anywhere in Thedas (I write "polyamorous" because if such a thing existed in the game world, I am sure it would not be limited by gender). We *have* seen numerous instances where infidelity has damaged relationships (Andraste and Mekarath, Scaia and Luthias Dwarfson, Flemeth and Connobhar, Maric and Rowan, Cailan and Anora, etc.). If BioWare were inclined to write more complicated relationships than they already do, you'd think they would give us a few examples of polyamory in the world first, where writing it in wouldn't involve as many resources.

I have to admit, thinking about the argument, I would not like or use such a chance if it was present. I admit it may be some kind of my limtation, but the thought of being in a relationship with more than one person, is quite sikening to me.
maybe because I'm a little a gelous tipe, but I would totally hate my patner to have...another partner beside me. be it another woman, or man. I'm all for monogam.
(hey, I don't like even the extramarital (is that the word for realtionship outside marriage?) realtionship, and I never made on of my warden a mistress. I feel it as degradating)

so...no, not even in fictional relationship I can really say I would like to se something like that.
of course, I would not cry at the oultrage if such thing was added in the game (since, after the all bi, I can't really say nothing, if not that the sims is more realistic) I would just not use it...but I would really miss the gelous interactions with the companion. Marrigan jelous of Zevran was hilarious!

OP is a troll, what is there to discuss ?

Polygamy only works when you oppress an entire gender, i.e. in patriarchy. We would probably see in some backwards society with slaves. Tevinter seems ripe for it, why would they deny Magisters anything ? Power is to be abused in Tevinter so I wouldn't be surprised to see it there or in Antiva where kids are sold into slavery.

Polyamorous relationships are voluntary and do not stem from centuries of oppressing women, so maybe it could be a valid thing to show positively on a game. But I'm sure even the polyamor fan realizes there are many battles to be won before we get there.

Hmmm...I assume by "polygamy" the OP means "more then one romance at a time". As someone pointed out previously, this was possible in DA:O for a short time, but eventually one of the characters would step in and say "Make a choice". I liked this, truth be told. It reflected a sense of realism.

Now having it in the game where both characters are available as LI's and they both know about each other would probably be more challenging then it would be really worth. Keep in mind that the romances are a side quest, it's not part of the main story.

Other than a quick threesome, I don't expect to see any kind of polygamous relationship happening because it would be too complex and probably take focus away from the rest of the game.

Most of the polygamous groups still practicing have also been engaging in other criminal activity.
The FDLS being an example.
So there isn't a favorable opinion of polygamy in the US.
I would prefer our Inquisitor be able to have romantic interludes with npcs.
The was Isabela in DAO.
I wish there had been an actual romantic scene. I realize that might have been difficult to program because it can either be the warden an Isabela or both of them and a 3rd party member as part of a threesome.
The next one was Bela. Loved Bela. The warden should should have had a scene with her either before the fight in the village or after.
Finally the male Cousland warden should have had an option for a scene with Anora. You ask her if there's anything you can do for her, she could have said yes and you spend the night together.
So I am agreeable to that sort of thing. Changed my mind on it and am now for it.
But againt polygamy/ multiple marriages by the Inquisitor .
