It's a valid interpretation supported by ingame evidence however.

Disregarding the valid interpretation, show me the evidence please.

I think we're done here. This thread has officially descended into another shrine for the worship of a designated LI.

That's what I was actively trying to avoid. It seems to be impossible, even if there suddenly are some actual things to discuss. But despite my OP being about 50% various disclaimers, I should have known what I was in for.

Yeah it's just the nature of the beast. The Mirandalorians aren't the only guilty party.

I don't think she's even close to being Shep's equal. And I like Miranda btw..

About the only real peer in my mind is Javik. At least mentally. Perhaps if they had given Subject Zero a version of Aria's Flare, she'd be there too.

I'm actually more of the opinion that Miranda's only peer is Shepard.

I think the more appropriate way to word it in my opinion is that Shepard is the only one worthy of her.

Go more in depth. I think I know where you're going, and I have my evidence (from her writer btw) ready.

Yeah, I mentioned it earlier but I think that having a designated "Character/Romance" forum was a good thing. Kept all the gushing contained to one place.

Actually, regarding your OP;

They can gush in their groups now.

Hmm.. I didn't even think that kind of fandom was possible. Fandom at your own character's expense - a character who you've played through 3 games worth of content doing unbelievably insane things that no one else does. And the only reason why I say Javik is a peer is that he's experienced similarly epic level sh*t.

Yes, but this isn't about worshipping specific members of the cast. I was in fact just having questions/opinions on certain aspects that as so happened, were about a character and not an event/other plot developement. I do indeed take care in which forum I post a thread, if I even do so at all.

Of course I know there are people around here who are very passionate about certain characters, especially potential love interests, and I thought their presumed desire to clear things up was stronger than the readiness to fight over them. I'm also not saying all of them even did the latter - it's just whenever a character's name pops up, there seems to be bloodshed.

Judging by the OP, it isn't about bashing specific cast members either.

We know how long it took until that started.

Is Ieldra still pushing his ME3 set out to deliberately ruin Miranda...

I'm saying that her ME3 writer had a vision vastly different from what I'd have preferred, emphasizing a character trait which was least conducive to continue with her in the spirit of what came before. MassivelyEffective's account describes what she was in ME2, but I only see a shadow of that in ME3. Evidence? Just watch the extended death scene.

In short, I hate the way her character development went in ME3. No, I don't think it was a deliberate snub of certain fans. A writer has the right to stick to his vision after all. I, however, am not obliged to like it.

We were discussing a lot of things until someone asked how I could find Miranda ugly. I responded. That's not 'bashing'.

Frankly I'm far more bothered by MassivelyEffective's rather freakish obsession than by anything about the actual character. Responding to that is also not 'bashing'.

Hmm...

-Thread starts out with genuine discussion on Miranda's merits with no undue gushing or bashing.
-One troll starts bashing
-A few people mistakenly feed it. Troll continues (and picks up help), more people try to "defend" character.

Result: whole thread gets accused of gushing.

Seems legit.

Miranda's face isn't terrible, but those cheeks and teeth totally ruin it. Allers is even worse.

I'd like to see that evidence. You see, it's not as if I don't *want* to believe you, but certain parts of the LotSB dossier and the way the "normal life" theme was pushed in ME3, all that is rather suggestive, and I actually find it odd that you can dismiss it so easily. I wish I could, then I'd be much happier with Miranda.

Miranda is like the Unrelenting Force shout from Skyrim. It is (usually) one of the 1st shouts that players unlock, yet it is consistently useful throughout the game.

No, all that is rather circumstantial.

There is nothing in the dossier that is a game-changer or a slight in any way, apart from the infertility which is likely more a case of Did Not Do the Research (thus it should be ignored as such).

As for ME3, nothing was added that wasn't there before. That's the problem. Things were removed.

Provided you're playing on the harder difficulty settings. Overload and Warp is far less useful on the normal difficulties where raw bursts or control make Samara, Jack, Garrus and Zaeed far more deadly.

Actually I tend to underestimate Zaeed. Inferno Grenade is devastating against anything armored, be it Husks, Vorcha or Praetorians. Disruptor Ammo and Concussive Shot means he can pull his weight with Shields and Barriers too.

But he is entitled to his opinion. You are entitled to your opinion about Tali for example.

Also, he has a point, Miranda doesn't have a pretty face.

And that's perfectly fine.

It's also possible to voice an opinion without doing it in such an obviously hostile and aggressive manner. Ergo, bashing.
