I rarely use her, because she looks ridiculous fighting around in that catsuit. I pretend her and Mordin have more important jobs on the ship that do not involve running around with Shepard.

And in ME3 I always let her die dramatically. :D

Honestly some of the Miranda fans could put the ITers to shame at looking too deeply at what is not there.

Not sure which are the worst aspects of the Miranda fanbase, the IT-like hamsterism or the desire to have an Yvonne Strahovski romance surrogate.

She was great, gameplay wise. As a character, thought she was boring, and one of the least interesting characters in the series. She was just bland, and on the same level as Kadian and Jacob.

Interesting, given that I know Miranda fans that don't even like Strahovski that much...

You're also assuming everyone knew who she was before they played ME2 and romanced Miranda. I'm going to go ahead and cite myself as the counterexample.

Me too.

That's like saying that people who romance Ashley want to get with Kimberley Brooks, or Kaidanmancers want to get with Raphael Sbarge.

They sure fooled me with all their Strahovski avatars.

What, all two of them?

That's about the number of users I've seen with consistent Strahovski avatars.

The difference being that those characters aren't modeled after their actors.

I've also never had anyone defend Kaidan or Ashley's attractiveness by citing their actor at me.

While it's true that modeling and voicing a character brings you closer to it than doing either alone, liking a character does not automatically mean liking the actor or vice versa.

Not disagreeing, but I would like to point out that Kimberly Brooks is a big, black woman and Raphael Sbarge is a skinny, old guy; they look nothing like their characters whereas Miranda is modeled after Yvonne, so, not exactly. :P

Indeed I don't even like Strahovski as an actress, generally speaking, and I definitely don't want to sleep with her.

Which is why I also took note of the second point:

I've seen people defend Miranda by saying Strahovski is hot, ergo Miranda must be hot. No joke. It's on the first page of this thread.

Rana McAnear/Samara and Mark Vanderloo/Sheploo then.

On the other hand Tali could look like Liz/Ash Sroka for all we know, stock image debacle aside.

That's a tad misleading, though at the same time, kind of obvious. First off, that discussion was all about looks. Since it's a physical quality, if the actor is hot, then the character will be hot.  That's a no-brainer.

It does kind of miss the point of the objection, namely the errors in adapting Strahovski's face for the game. But then again, you didn't specifically reference that either.

Both were voiced by different people. The correlation is weaker.

Odd sidenote: I've seen pics of Rana cosplaying as Samara. And she looks a tad off from the game, even though she's the model for the character. Maybe it's the eyes.

That actually jilted me. Now do one of those Tali face reveal gifs with that.

As someone who typically favours Ashley as the most natural and interesting romance in the game due to the turbulent experience she and Shepard go through, inside and outside the romance...

Miranda's renegade kiss scene is by far the best and most realistic, (in terms of drama and scriptwriting) of any of the romances of the game.

I usually look at Liara's ME1 romance rolling my eyes at how weird it is: "I think I have the hots for you Shepard." "I do too." "Let's get it on." even though I prefer the overall romance to Miranadas.

But the renegade kiss scene really does build so much for that particular relationship. It shows how natural it is, that it all starts with an attraction, which slowly progresses to open affection.

It should never have been a matter for reference, though. The character should be judged on her own merits as personality, voice and appearance.

I mean come on. Grey DeLisle voiced Nassana Dantius, and I still hate that ruthless ****.

I find Liara's blunt awkwardness endearing, but I otherwise agree - it certainly comes across rather strangely in the first game.

I just redid Lair of the Shadow Broker today though with Liara as my LI. Well worth it, easily the best character chemistry - with FemShep, obviously. Sheploo's just kind of a weirdo. Never saw him work well at all with Liara.

Actually, it was all about equally superficial things like trust, loyality and her relationship to TIM and Shepard.

The Miranda fandom is probably one of the most bizarre and complicated of any of the character's. Truthfully, I don't even know if they like Miranda or just some fanfic character they made up.

I didn't know who Strahovski was until after I played ME2!  Ever since I found out, I've been a HUGE "Chuck" Fan who has also watched her role on "Dexter" to show my SUPPORT for her as an actor.  I'm a female gamer and I don't lust over her.  So try not to include all Miranda fans in your analysis that we don't like her.  Some do for various reasons.

:P

I think Miranda's character was very good in ME3 even better in the Citadel DLC.  Some might not like the more softer side of her but I did!   I just wished Miranda's character had more of a role in showing her actions rather than telling them through text messages or video clips but understand why they were done on Sanctuary.  I wanted to see her take down her former(cerberus bases), to show she was doing something than looking for another over used story with Oriana.  I wanted to know more about her past, more input about what her father was, how he gained his wealth etc. And what it was like when Miranda was within Cerberus and all the "shady" things she might have done in that organization.  The character really intriques me.  So its not all what she looks like that makes me her fan.  I can relate to her in some ways.

The butt views were a bit much...but those were the developer's/company ideas? of trying to appeal to you male gamers...  Just look at Liara's nude romance scene... they only do what they do to appeal to horny teenage male audience and quite possibly not the more mature gamers out there.  All the underwear humping and showers is just plain ridiculous!  ME and Dragon Age included.
