Hey guys, I saw the "What are you listening to" thread and saw a lot of good bands, but not really much live videos.

I don't know if you guys are like me, but I love watching live performances of ALL my favorite artists(i'm a metal/rocker), so I decided, if theres anyone out there who likes looking up live performances as well, they now have a thread to post them.

Just pick some of your favorites from youtube. They can be concert performances, acoustics, or anything of the sort that involves live playing.

I'll obviously start off the thread, these are a couple of Queensryche live performances that I really enjoyed. One if a live performance back in 1985, the other is an acoustic performance for MTV Unplugged, which I believe was around 90-95. Can't remember.

1985 concert - Queen of the Reich Live Performance

MTV Unplugged Performance - Killing Words

This is the 1985 video link, don't know why it won't show up on my original post...

Herbert von Karajan (RIP)
Elvis Presley (RIP)

Never seen Live Performance in my life, except few TV shows. Christina Aguilera is very good at this. Brad Paisley seems good too.

Neither have I, though that should change in the future...I just posted some performances I found and saw on youtube, not in person.

I've seen Backstreet Boys (lol, I know .. I was young and naive) and Red Hot Chilli Peppers live and even though at the moment I was a huge fan of them, the concert didn't leave a big impression behind.

Last year in November I went to this little club to see my favorite band "Poets of the Fall" and it was outstanding. When I think about it, I can still remember everything. It was amamzing!

Here in the intro of the night. I know it is distorted, but yeah ... just to get an idea. Not my video.

This is mine and my personal favorite ^_^ I know it's not the best, I filmed with my Iphone.

Only seen His Infernal Majesty live once, they did a tour with Skindred & Finch. First time I'd ever been to an event like that. Don't believe theres any videos of it though.
Back in April 5th I went to the Repo the Genetic Opera/ Devils Carnival double feature at the Clinton Street Theater. There are actually a few Youtube videos of that event.

I really like the film Monterey Pop. The director also did one called Don't Look Back that followed Bob Dylan but Pop is a step above that one in just about every way, but both films are pretty cool. Atleast watch Pop if you ever have the chance.

I'd most like to see Queens of the Stone Age & The Cure, but they never seem to come around my state very often. Queens of the Stone Age has some great live performances captured on Youtube.

From the performances I have seen live I would say U2 at Wembley 1993 (Zoo TV tour I think), REM headlining Glastonbury in 1999 and Radiohead at the O2, London last year.

REM -www.youtube.com/watch

Radiohead -

I would post a link of U2 but realised it was 20 years ago *gulp*! Gawd I feel old!

Anything Buckethead does live, for example

He's just as much an entertainer, as he is a musician.

Another example - part at 6:58

Using nunchunks, while shredding and having a bass strapped to you as well... :o

I really dislike watching live performances on Youtube. They don't sound as good as the studio version and you don't really get the energy of a live show. Live shows are really cool in person though, and my favorite shows I've been to are Slipknot, Hed PE and Hollywood Undead.

Though unplugs aren't that bad to hear, especially if it's Nirvana

Hmm I went to see Ozzy and Slash for my 16th birthday so that was pretty memorable, but my favorite by far was when I went to see Avenged Sevenfold on their Welcome to the Family tour after they rescheduled. The crowd went insane as soon as they walked on stage. Ahh memories...
