Sorry, the story can go for either gender as the protagonist. Deal with it.

Fad? Bronies? It's one thing to disagree, but I don't see the point of trying to insult people who support either choice. This is simply your opinion, and it is not the gold standard of anything.

I know what you mean about stories sometimes fitting only one gender ... I could only play Fable II using a male protagonist because my female started to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in drag. Not pretty.
In Mass Effect I find that I can't play a female Shepard as a soldier ... She fits better as an infiltrator. But I do enjoy playing both genders in Mass Effect. Maybe you could play a female Shepard with biotics? Imagine her as tough as Aria? Just a suggestion.
It's all personal taste really.

Ali Hillis is just a very bland one-trick pony. All her characters sound the same and all of them have the same bland voice.

even that Salarian Eclipse leader, Jaroth, can act better than him. that line of his "since you care so mmmmuch" kills me every time!

Mark Meer my no1 choice. he's godamn awful, sounds like he's reading a script aloud as a joke when noone's around. no depth whatsoever.

Damn that's quite the hyperbole you got there man.
I can understand people disliking Meer (personally I think he's great though), just as I can understand people disliking Hale (I dislike her too), but you are really exaggerating.

no I'm not. voicing a hardened soldier takes much more than you think. you need to have an edge to your voice. Meer focks it up big time, he's uber-bland to listen to and it's one of the things that annoy me about the ME games. he should've stuck to voicing vorcha.

You're not only exaggerating big time, you're also thinking in stereotypes.
Have you even ever met a real soldier in real-life? I don't think you have.

this ain't real life, it's a video game with tons of soldiers. and he's supposed to be the protagonist. and he sucks at it, even the casual lines are painful to listen to.

lol that's how elcor are supposed to talk, their blandless is by design. they communicate with other elcor via pheromones that indicate the tone of their voice, but non-elcor species aren't capable of reading pheromones like that, that's why the elcor have to "explain" their tone.
*badassfully* Prothean no like you!!!

That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard. "It's a video-game" is not really a good reason for thinking in stereotypes.
And again, you're gravely exaggerating. I get the feeling that you're simply trying to start a flame-war here. I'm not going to fall for it though.
In any case, Ali Hillis (Liara) is a lot worse than Mark Meer. She just can't act, period.

But Chobot sounds like she's reading off a script blankly. Was there any purpose to her being in the game beyond trying to give IGN head for a perfect score? Chobot has literally no talent in anything beyond licking PSP's. Talk about wasted resources and screwy priorities.

My vote goes to either Jacob, the "My Sweet" child in the ME3 epilogue, or Bailey.
