Compare Mass Effect 3 to The Witcher 2. Pros and Cons?

However, I must confess I played Mass Effect 3 more than TW2 and I found the former more enjoyable. Since I consider storytelling a vital part of RPG games and I detest ME3's weak storytelling, I'm not quite sure why I enjoyed ME3 more.
Is it due to its gameplay or interesting cast of companions? (though their actions are less plausible in ME3 compared to TW2) If you have played both games, which one did you prefer, and why?

Pros
Better Story
No Morality system
Better customization
Better love Scenes
Better graphics
Better choice system
Better Side Quests
Better environmets
Cons
Witcher 2 is pretty short (I once beat it in 12 hrs)
There is profanity to the point that its annoying
The combat leaves more to be desired
Apart from Chapter 2 most of the environments seem small
Geralt can't really be changed to fit your peronality
Most of the characters aren't interesting

No DRM makes anything CDPR 100% better.

Dragon Age: Origins > The Witcher 2 > Dragon Age 2 > Mass Effect 3.
Compare those two games instead of comparing The Witcher 2 to an RPG lite shooter. Bioware have lost their way recently with Dragon Age 2 (rushed) and Mass Effect 3 (my major problem wasn't the endings but it being dumbed down) but Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Dragon Age: Origins are way better than many other RPG's out there (past and present) and I doubt W3 will beat these titles.
I like The Witcher 2 I do but I can't understand how some people hold it up as the pinacle or savior of modern day RPG's. It's extremely lacking in terms of customization and you can only influence Geralt so much. People would be lying also if they say the combat is based on statistics because it's not. Witcher 2 is more of an action-RPG than DA2 because of the blocking, rolling and well general Demon's Souls combat mechanics (which they used as inspiration). However unlike DA2 you're not in combat half the time and the game contains some rather traditional RPG traits when it comes to questing, story and making choices. Combat however is entirely based on action just like with Dark Souls. Magic and alchemy only give you an extra advantage on the battlefield just like a firebomb or magic does in DkS.
I will say that I liked the characters in The Witcher 2 more than the characters in all the Mass Effect games (exceptions being Saren, Thane Krios and Anderson). Hell I generally enjoyed it more than any Mass Effect game but against Dragon Age: Origins? Origins triumphs if you ask me and I don't think anything CDPR produces (or even Bioware themselves) will top Origins for a long time. If CDPR create their own fantasy IP one day (or a Witcher where you create your own character) and allow for more customization (something I understand is limited for a character like Geralt) and more character role-playing then who knows?
I will say that I'm looking forward to The Witcher 3 and Dark Souls 2 next year. In fact those are the only games (so far) releasing next year that I'm interested in. Inqusition I'm skeptical about.

In comparing the two? Witcher 2 would win with regards to a more logically consistent main plot. ME3's environments, setting, characters, and subplots (Genophage + Geth-Quarian conflict) were far more to my liking.

But honestly... I second EntropicAngel, this kind of threads need to die. They're pointless. I'm a major Witcher fan and I see both the strengths and weaknesses of the franchise, but it's just impossible to judge objectively games that are so radically different. Mass Effect 3 was a rushed game, with abundance of fetch quests and weak resolution, but I definitely enjoyed the gameplay and the whole journey.
I enjoyed TW2 much more, but to be fair I'm Polish and I've knew the Witcher universe for a long, long time considering Sapkowski's books are among my favourites. It's just a matter of preference, though there is no contest that TW2 story is simply better and far, more complicated than the bare bones plot of ME3.

Your post is so true. This is how I would rate these rpgs. DA:O is still my favorite rpg this generation because it has a lot more replay value than TW2.

You aren't missing much. I consider ME3 a bigger letdown than DA2, mainly because Mass Effect 1 &2 set a higher standard.

Wasn't TW2 better in storytelling, characters, and ropeplaying aspects compared to DA:O, making it a better RPG? DA:O suffered from the fact main character was the centre of universe as in all other Bioware games.
First, realism. Beling a total nutcase and insulting every noble you meet in DA:O doesn't result in any tangible consequences whereas in TW2 you can see a game-over screen for wrong dialogue choices in cut-scenes.
Second, storytelling. DA:O's side characters are not well motivated and sometimes their actions are totally unplausible, and side characters often don't do anything on their own accord until being forced by the main characters. The wardens being framed for traitors seemed like a joke. Geralt being framed for regicide seems much more feasible, and in TW2 side characters are much more active and involved in the story.
Third, roleplaying. DA:O's overal plots are very shallow and hence, even if they provide you choices to ponder upon, they are not as grey-ish nor complicated as choices you are presented with in TW2. Geralt's pre-determined personalities can be a letdown to some, but TW2 fully uses this to tella deeply engaged story with lots of food for thoughts. I also found dialoges of TW2 much deeper than DA:O dialogues. Take Geralt's conversation with Barom Kimbolt for exmaple.
(watch from 3:30)
look at the depth of dialogue. DA:O falls very short in comparison in my opinion.
While DA:O offers you choices taking sides A or B in many quests, the witcher 2 takes a step further and even gives you choices in dialogues to defend your actions and discuss morality which is not possible in Bioware games where the main character lacks real strong personalities to befit broad audience and is always justifed in their actions for the sake of being a protagonist. I don't really think chooisng a side between two factions, deciding whether you will be nice person or an ass, and choosing whom to date is true Roleplaying experience. Realities are much more than that, and in that regard TW2 is superb.
I actually enjoyed DA:O more than TW2 as I played DA:O over ten times, however, I still think TW2 is a supeior 'RP' game.
