With the reality of having three full games based on the actions of one Shepard... who's going to have a ME marathon in the style of watching LOTR EE once the third drops?

Was thinking about this yesterday. Hopefully sometime in 2012 it will be possible.

Of course, athough watching the extended LotR trilogy only takes about 9 hours, really only a day, whereas the ME trilogy would be about a week... Either way, yeah the minute I get through my first ME3 playthrough I'll be doing this.

That would be very awesome. Just play through every game without stopping, entirely new character.

Oh yeah, definitely. When hearing that ME will be a trilogy, this came to mind.

Speaking of which, terminator, I haven't played the games, but I heard that after playing GoW 2, GoW 1 felt really bad and clunky to go back to. I'm really hoping the same doesn't happen with Mass Effect, but on the other hand, I'm also really hoping that it will happen, because that would mean that we'd have two games better than ME, which is already awesome. I can just see pushing the hotkey for a super new ability or power, nothing happening, and then realising, "Oh, yeah. I'm playing the first one now. I don't have that yet."

Oh, who am I kidding; the characters and story'll make it worth it, so sign me up for the marathon. :3

Oh most def!! That is one of the things that excites me the most about Mass Effect. It's like our very own epic scifi trilogy that we get to control. It would be epic to just straight play through all three games as if I'm watching an epic movie trilogy like Star Wars. The trilogy itself adds another layer of replayability to Mass Effect. I can't wait!

I didn't think GoW 1 felt clunkier after the second ones.  The same will be with ME2 and 1; the newer game will have all the shiny and polished graphics, new powers, and whatnot, but the first game will always have the nostalgia factor, the "wow, I forgot about that" feeling that the second one won't have.

I'm definitely skipping all those ridiculous collection quests in the first game, unless there's something REALLY cool that happens because of doing them. The only thing I found truly clunky about the first game was the Mako.

Haha yeah that'd be fun to do. One of the Devs if I remember rightly said that ME2 is longer than ME, so if the same applies to ME3, then maybe we could be looking at 180 hours for a 'perfectionist' style playthrough

I probably would.

I'm betting that playing through ME1 is going to be torture after experiencing whatever combat upgrades ME3 brings though. It'd be awesome if after releasing the third game Bioware bundles the first two together along with all the combat changes that were made over the course of the trilogy.

We don't me all in one sitting do we? I could try for maybe each game in one or two sittings, but I can't sit in a chair for like, 4 days without sleep.

I've been thinking about doing this for months. I'd replay ME1 and ME2 both before I even touch ME3.

Think it will take more than 4 days to do all 3 even without sleep :P well unless you skip a lot of stuff. Took me about 45 hours to complete the first one. But no even if I do end up doing a 'Trilogy' marathon I ain't going to be trying to play it no stop without breaks. I think anyone that tries that would end up dead.
