With the reality of having three full games based on the actions of one Shepard... who's going to have a ME marathon in the style of watching LOTR EE once the third drops?
Oh yeah, totally.

Most definitely going to do marathon multiple times for both genders and both paragon and renegade.

In the style of......lol wut? Lord of the Rings sucked in all its forms whether movies or books or games or whatever. 99% of the movie you see lame charaters acting stupid and 1% of the time you see the actual awesome charaters the plot should be about but then it just gets on your nerves again by switching back to the retards 3 seconds later.
If by marathon you mean me playing the whole trilogy from start of ME1 to end of ME3 over again doing everything optional in the process then YES....if by marathon you involve the implication that anything will be rushed then NO.

Embarrassingly, I only just got the Hardcore achievement. I've had the game since January 2008), and managed to screw up my Ashley romance as part of that play through.
So, I've restarted with my main FemShep to get the Insanity and Sentinel Ally achievements, then I'll have to replay with my Paragon MaleShep to prep an Ashley romance for ME2 and ME3 when it's finally out.
ANYWAY, what I'm trying to say is that I've played through ME1, and found that it wasn't so bad to go back to (the story never gets boring), but I did find myself trying to manually reload weapons and used a few medikits by mistake because I don't have the Charge ability on my ME1 Vanguard!!

I'm doing that. Not as soon as it drops because I want to finish my main sheps trilogy. The next vacation I get I'm doing the ultimate mass effect marathon: reading revelation, then playing ME1, reading ascension, reading redemption, playing me2, reading retribution (if that takes place after me2 which I think it does), then playing me3.
I like this idea. I was planning on the game part of it post- main Shep initial PT but did not think of reading the books as well. Remember the comics!
