Well, even though you're gone this is a good question (;
I wouldn't say necessary - but I surely like it, because I like having as much damage as possible for my Overload against Phantoms. Since I'm using Cyclonics anway on Plat, missing out on 4th rank in Fitness doesn't hurt me.

I've used arc pistol with turian sentinel and batarian sentinel excusively. Dem headshots. It's the best pistol IMO. I never see pugs use it though...well their loss. 

Need to test those other suggested characters too.

Great video, I've played with the arc pistol on the asari adept a fair bit. What I have to work on is running with it charged, same with other charge weapons. I'm not that good at being ready for charged shot instantly after casting a power.

Yes, it takes some getting used to - but it's definitely worth it. Even though I feel stupid every single time I jump off a ledge and it shoots...
Oh, and the second part just takes practice

Black Widow is better on weapon classes, especially if they have sniper or rate of fire bonuses.

TL;DR. But I agree. I actually use it on my MQI exclusively. Charge mechanic with cloak and tactscan just synergizes so nice. Charge, cloak, tact scan, fire. Pow 1 hit a gold ravanger. 1-2 hit a brute. The fact it bypasses shieldgate is nice too.

The Turian sentinel can make any weapon great, but for what its worth I'm really enjoying using him with an arc pistol. Thanks for the tip!

Ima be that guy, and say I liked the Arc pistol before it was cool or recognized :3

Every time I see a pug use the Arc pistol they never charge it, always a rapid fire it and I die inside.
Good one Max for showing BSN that the Arc pistol is BOSS.

Actually, its my main weapon on my justicar. 

Reave, warp ammo... Plus biobooms.  People like the wraith on her, i like the range the BW gives her.  She's actually one of my fav sniper kits.

I approve of the title change. The BW is even more overrated than the Claymore. Arc Pistol is one of the best weapon in the game.

Impressive shooting in the videos! Tried the T.Sentinel again with the arc pistol and did nowhere near as good! Makes me think the strength is in the player here, not the weapon. I think the OP would probably do as well with the Talon (or, just about any other weapon!)

It wasn't all that great before November 27, 2012 when they raised the multiplier to 3.

None of the SR's are as good on other classes as on infiltrators... but it still works on various classes, like TSol, QMark, Human Soldier, Destroyer, etc.  Someone that can't afford the weight of BW is better off with the Arc Pistol obviously.

The Claymore isn't overrated, so the first statement is nonsense even if the second one is true.  Black Widow is an excellent weapon though.  And unlike Arc Pistol w/ APIV that has 1.5m penetration, you can more easily get 2m+ and then have a greater likelihood of getting actual multiple hits... like on the Phantom bubble which takes 2m, or a headshot on a Praetorian w/ its bubble up.
