Been there, done that.  Time for something else

Clear rubble, then rebuild.

New story, new characters, none of the baggage from the ending.

If it were only Bioware calling the shots, a reboot would probably work. But with EA and their ruinous hands everywhere, what makes you think a reboot would fix ME? What makes you think It's not gonna make it even worse?

you bring a good point I feel that starting anew would stop the bad taste of ME3 and starting fresh with the core lore still alive and stoping Hudson and walters from going near it  would help it and actually I mean actually hearing fans out not the drones or terror Ks it would make a reboot worth while but thats hope not reality.

Nope.

I'd rather play something new than an updated version of a game I've already played.

If they rebooted the whole series would it take 3 games or one game. What would be the point now? There are so many mistakes, flaws, inconsistencies and plot holes in all three games that it would be near impossible to fix.

Way too soon for a reboot.

I wouldn't mind Jade empire 2 in the meantime though :P

I agree, also even if they were to remake Mass Effect I think the backlash could be worse then Mass Effect 3 for people would have even bigger expectations of what should be changed to make the game better and to quote Samara from Mass Effect 2 "Put three humans in a room, there will be six opinions".

I think the best thing to do even if they are planning a "reboot" which I hope they don't is they work on a completely new story and then go back to it after they are done with this one to put some space between the emotions of Mass Effect 3 and what they create.

Remake ME3 if anything. Rebooting is pointless.

Not really. There is no money in selling a reboot of a series that is about five years old.

Mass Effect: Alternaty

Mass Effect 3 killed my interest in playing any Mass Effect game past, present, and future.

Just retcon ME2 and 3. Set it after the Shepard arc and write something better.

A reboot would be stupid. Bioware should just have ended it with ME3. That was the end of the trilogy and it should've remained that way.

Remake ME2 and ME3. Have ME2 being about preparing for the reapers and gaining new squadmates/allies. No suicide mission or epic conclusion. have omega, citadel, earth, thessia, and palaven, tuchanka all as hubs. At the end of the game, have Earth fall, and set up for the final game. Maybe forshadow the crucible or something, if it would still be in the plot.

Have ME3 focus on the war with the reapers, met more new squadmates, and have the chance of many of the characters dying. Also, have everything build up to the final battle (A bigger version of the suicide mission), where you make key battle choices, and many choices you made throught ME1, ME2 and ME3 affect the battle.

Now, I think your request for major choices impacting basically Priority: Earth is one of the more reasonable ones, but my concern is no matter what BioWare does with imported choices its not going to be enough to satisfy people.  I think save imports is something BioWare really needs to look at and really evaluate what they want to do with them.

As far as your other points, I am still not sure how well of a game a remake of ME2/ME3 would be just because of existing baggage and there would be the people that are upset that they didn't remake ME1 either for some people think its just as flawed as ME3, just in different ways.

I doubt they are gonna reboot ME3. Probably do something similar to what DA did. Another story in the same timeframe, where Shepard is mentioned but not a plot source.

What matters is game play. And for the love of all the gods, stick to the story.

There's also the film. Assuming the film gets off the ground, the next ME can't ignore the film. So which ever comes first, the film or game, we'll know.

By the way, I don't have such a bad taste for the ME as many of you do. I loved the games, despite the plot holes and other flaws. But Shepard is over. For obvious reasons.
