Hey all, after many computer problems, my computer seems to be back at full speed. The only problem is that any time I try to open an exterior area in the tool set, the tool set crashes. Even if I try to create a new area. Every thing else works fine. Does any one have any idea what might cause this?
thanks.

Probably not of much help, but I get toolset crashes on opening some exterior areas (not all), but they're usually the larger ones, or sometimes smaller ones when I've had some big things open. In my case, at least, it seems like a memory issue.

As a test, before opening or creating a new area, try turning off all optional visuals, like shadows, fog, sky, water, and setting your toolset resolution low and the far plane to a very small number (like 10). Also under the show/hide menu, select "hide all" (even if there would be nothing to hide on a newly-created area) and create the smallest area possible. Doing all of those things (as well as opening nothing but the toolset on a fresh reboot) helped open some problem areas for me, and I was able to re-enable display of all of the hidden things once it was open.

thanks fo rthe suggestion Tchos, but no dice. Even with every thing turned off, a new, tiny, 4x4 area still crashes my toolset.
Giant, interior areas, with everything turned up open fine. and if I play, all areas load fine. I just can't build.
I don't get an error message, it just says the toolset needs to close.

I think it is my new video card.
It seems that ATI discontinued the ATI Radeon X1300, which was supported for nwn2, and then took the ATI Radeon X1550, which was not supported, and renamed it X1300.
So my video card I bought specifically because it was one of the few my old computer can handle that was ok for nwn2, makes my computer crash if I open an exterior area.
damn

Yay, I dug out my old video card and it works. Things seem to be back to normal.
