Good, if it'll stop nickle and dimming off dlc. Then I fully support it.

IF it does, then yeah, but it probably won't. I have a feeling this is to make up for online passes and the DRM thing being removed

I don't think so, because that was a console specific thing. I believe it is to make up for the fact that games are becoming increasingly more expensive to make. Sure there are things in the engine that make it easier to craft the game itself. But there's so many new ways of going about capturing animations and incorporating it into the game and with all that comes the price-tag.

maybe, but i think $80 is still to much. $60 is already expensive. If they really needed to increase price it shouldve only gone up to $70 IMO. That would be somewhat acceptable.

And it sucks too, because EA is publishing games that im looking forward to, like Battlefront 3 and Next gen ME

what's an extra $20? one hour of work?

Over in AUS we pay $100 for our AAA games. $70 to $80 for a game here is cheap. And last I checked, our dollar is better than yours.

Plus, the thing to keep in mind is, a video game has much more longevity than other things out there that you will pay $80 for, like 5 star restaurants for example.

This.

$60 was already pushing it.  I'm not putting down $80 for something that may very well end up being just another ME3.

Especially with the price of DLC skyrocketing like it is.  Better to wait a year or so.

Yet to be determined. I believe our games are only more expensive because our Government taxes the shiz out of them. Whether they lower their levy to accomodate for the increased price or not is the question.

If you're getting $10 an hour, and you're over the age of 18 (I always assumed you were), you need a new job.

This will probably fall through. AAA-publishers want to up the price tag to get as much money as they can before the console market collapses on itself.

I can only hope this will not affect pricing for the PC versions.

Don't preorder, don't get your expectations up, don't buy into hype (like I'm one to talk right?). There are other ways around avoiding another "Mass Effect 3" than just outright screaming you wont pay that amount.

Some people drink alocohol every night to unwind, some people smoke ciggerettes and other substance, others do even more deadly drugs.

I game, and it's a much cheaper and healthier addiction than any of the above. They want another $20? Sure, but we all have to do the right thing as consumers and spend smartly.

As much as I hope it does for the sake of better PC games. The console market is way stronger than you understand.

Not very surprising. Development costs are going up and up and sixty dollars per game just isn't going to cut it anymore.

Well, gee, why didn't I think of that? Especially because in our current economy it's so easy to find a well-paying job, especially when you have no real work experience.

And I actually make $12 an hour, but when you take taxes into account, something that costs $20 does require a full two hours worth of pay.

Lets not forget that some jobs aren't hiring just to save money or paying people less

Depends on the job you're doing.

Oh I won't preorder.  And I'm not "screaming" I'm simply telling it how it is:  I game.  But eIghty dollars is simply too much for me when the potential for entertainment is so uncertain.

In fact, I've pretty much written off new AAA games at this point.  I'm looking at smaller indy companies and Good Old Games for my entertainment.  They're more primitive.  They have lower production values and no celebrities doing voice acting.  but they're still fun.  Especially if they're mod-friendly.
