We all know the ending of ME2 gives you the choice to sacrifice your Shepard and have him permanently killed off. I'm just wondering, doe's anyone here actually think they'll kill off their main Shepard? Forget multiple playthroughs with multiple Sheps - would a noble death tempt you to abandon your Shep for ME3?
So Anyone Here Brave Enough To Kill Off Their Main Shepard?

me!
may not buy ME3 so it may work out this way.
I dislike leaving stories unfinished.

Why would you want to kill him off when you can fully succeed and save everyone, including yourself?
Seems like a foolish thing to do.

I'll probsably do it just to find out what happens.

Depends on the circumstances. I'm willing to go out guns blazing if the call arises; however I would prefer to finish the fight.

I won't. I think that ultimately, you're supposed to survive and defy the odds.
Now, maybe they'll have the 'noble sacrifice' ending for ME3, but for the moment it seems the 'permanent death' ending for ME2 won't necessarily be a noble sacrifice, but one where you didn't prepare enough to take on the collectors.

If Shepherd dies, it'll be because Shepherd went in unprepared say the developers.

I'm sure the Devs have tried to make it pretty noble and cool so it'll at least tempt you to play the ultimate hero.
I don't think I could do it though. I'd feel pretty annoyed when ME3 came out and I had to create a new character.

Who is this "we all"? I've heard nothing of any ending for ME2.
I think you're lying.

My primary Shep will survive, since this is what keeps her going, she wants to live at any cost, risking her live but not throwing it away by sacrificing herself. It's way more brave to live, then to die.

Yeah. If you die then you failed.
Shepard is supposed to survive the entire trilogy. So if you have to die at the end then you should try harder next time

I'm really gonna beat the odds and get myself and the new crew all out alive
That would be the best ending ever.

My main shep will live, only because I see death resulting from a lack of preparation, rather than a noble sacrifice sort of thing.
MainShepp is not one to take 'suicide mission' lightly, and wants all his crew in their prime of not dying-ness.

My thoughts exaactly. None in my squad is going to die. We will preapare, we will equip,we will face the odds, we will fight, and WE WILL WIN!!!

Since I'm going to play as myself, only if:
1) The choices I make inadvertently get me killed.
2) There is a sacrifice option where I save the day but sacrifice my life for it.
BUT I'll have a save where I survive either way.

Why? You can't import that save into ME3. Shepard dying isn't canon
My Shepard will make sure everyone lives
My Shepard will make sure everyone lives

2 OP.
Are you suicidal or what?
1. Shepard is of course expendable, but everyone in his crew is expendable a little earlier.
2. Wars are won not by dying for your country, but by making the poor bastards on the other side die for theirs. © Gen. Omar Bradley.
3. Surely a true warrior prefers dying of a sucking chest wound to dying of old age. But with that in mind he always expects to live through just one more battle (or he is unlikely to make it through his 1st one).

My shepherd is too reckless and ruthless to live. He won't value soem of his squadmembers, and will likey die.

Not my main, no.
He is too cautious anyway to rush into certain death.
But perhaps my quickly abandoned renegade character or such.

Maybe once I've finished all the other possible endings, I'll get Shepard and co killed.

my default Shep is the one I'm gonna finish the trilogy with. I might just make a character in Mass effect 2 just to see them die

nah! My main Shep play-through will be doing everything possible to survive the final mission, with everyone alive (touch wood).

Who knows? I'll play as ususal, making the decisions I would have made and if they end up causing my death, so be it. That's not to say that I'll just rush in without thinking and preparing but I will not pamper every companion just so I can earn their 'trust'. I'm in charge and they either follow my will or they will be left to die.

Well you can start a new playthrough with the same character so don't see the harm in trying a suicide playthrough
