Anyone besides me played this?
It's like the third most obscure game I know, at least in America.

It's not that obscure.

It isn't obscure at all. Spellforce never made big waves here, but for a short while it was fairly well known. That year was light on anything remotely resembling an RPG. I own Order of the Dawn but never got into it enough to purchase any of the expansions or Spellforce 2. I also hear the compilation pack is not only buggy but installs Starforce.

I have the full Spellforce collection and never managed to get into the first Spellforce(didn't really like it) but played a whole of Spellforce 2 and stopped because the campaign got too tedious and long.

I've played & enjoyed Spellforce 1 & 2, but never got or played any of the Expansions. I liked both games, but they do have room for improvement. Good foundations though.

Spellforce, as in, the RTS/RPG hybrid? I bought that on Gog.com afew months ago, and I absolutely adored it. Yes, both the RPG andRTS parts were somewhat generic individually, and the story was bleh, but it was good fun.

The story on both of them had potential, but I don't think it was fully realized, as if their priority rating in game development was secondary. They mighta had their hands full with the combat/base building system, especially since it looked like a new idea bein tried out. Even on the 2nd one, it was an improvement, but can still use some more polish, mainly in the skill system. I still hope the series gets love & care & future sequels getting much better.

Have the first of the Spellforce game as well as the Platinum edition. Finished the expansions at least once, but the original version I played over and over. One of my first truly addictive games.

Also Spellforce 2, but that started bad - my pc kept on dying whenever I tried to play it. By the time I got a better pc I had moved on and never got into it.

I actually loved Spellforce 1, the game had an amazing atmosphere. Too bad it had so many bugs and lacked allot of overall polish on release. Could have been a much bigger hit if Phenomic/Jowood would have invested more time in it back then.

Both expansions where nice aswell.

I really like them.

At times the length of the games do approach 'so long as to not be worth it', each one can consume sixty hours easy. That's one-hundred eighty hours in just the first game with it's expansions.

Not quite sure what I like about them, but I keep finding myself drawn back to them... I think it's the lore, the plot may need a little work at times, but their lore is fantastic. The idea of RPG/RTS is also very interesting.

Spellforce Platinum fixed alot of the bugs in the game, it's now easily playable.

Spellforce 1 was great. Spellforce 2 was...OK.

So much potential. Too bad it's not fully taken advantage off.
