Femshep not getting a leather jacket! I mean jeez

Thankfully there is a mod to fix this now.

For me this topic has mainly to do with sound.
First of all, I am someone who usually plays the trilogy as a whole and coming in straight from ME2, some of the weapon and biotic sounds are really odd at first. They are great sounds on their own mind you, just the transition from ME2 to ME3 is weird.

The second issue I have is the audio mix. ME3 IMO has the greatest soundtrack of all 3 games but for some reason, the devs seemed to think that sound effects are more important. So they implemented a system where the music gets tuned down in cutscenes if there are prominent sound effects. Example: Check out the final assault of Hammer in London, when all the Makos roll out. There is great epic music in that scne and I really wnat to be swept away by it and the images but all I hear is MAKO engines because the msuic is triggered to face into the background.
Of course, you could just that the music slider extremely high and the sound slider extremely low, that fixes those scenes but than the sound mix of the rest of game is messed up. There is just no way to really make the game sound good consistently IMO. I really hope the cut back on these triggers in the next game.

Also, the fact that I can get stuck by standing on that one spot behind Joker is very annoying.

EDIT: Oh, forgot:

These shoulder pads annoyed the hell out of me, too. Not sure why, the just did.

Having to go to your terminal to access your email. Imagine if in the future we could access it anywhere we want. That'd be so cool.

Having to open the doors on the Citadel elevators before pushing another button inside them to get the 'change floors' menu. You only have to push the button on the front of the Normandy's elevator to do the same.

Having to walk through the meeting room every time I complete a mission considering the space gets used once (twice?) in the whole game.

"STEEEEEEEEEVE!" "You sure?" The difference in tone is....bad.

Gods, I HATED that freaking room!  I woulda had a team up there with cutters to dissassemble the danged thing and put something useful there.  Like another fish tank.  Or a bathroom.  SOMETHING worth while.  Those 2 grunts could go help Cortez polish the shuttles or something.

Meer talked about that 'STEEEVE!" in an interview; apparently that was one of the many options they recorded, in this case for a Steve romance.  For some reason, it was the only one to get into the game.  Meer found out in his own playthrough; talked about how odd it was (since he didn't do Steve), like, " STEEEEEVE..uh, you ok?"  He's much funnier then I.

Not sure if you guys would consider this silly or not but, the fact the games are leaning more and more to the third person shooter area then RPG. I really hope they at least keep some dialogue choices and paragon/renegade in the next game(if there is one).

Another thing that bothers me a little is Liara is all of the sudden a scientist again. I may have missed something but what happened to her being the shadow broker?

Thirdly, Vega....is it just me or is this character horribly written?

Being the Shadow Broker doesn't preclude furthering her role as a scientist.

But how did she have time to continue being a scientist and the shadow broker? Thats a huge job being the shadow broker and it is a 24/7 job at that. The previous one and the one before that both sat at that desk all day pretty much.

To add to the "Steeeeeeeve'" line delivery... Another one that bugged me.

"I was born in London"... "Really"....*awkward pause*

Didn't Anderson already say he was from London from a previous convo with Hackett and Shep? And just the delivery of that convo was a little off.

Something tells me that Glyph helps quite a bit to micromanage the minutia of the Shadow Broker's duties. Presumably whoever assumes the role of Shadow Broker isnt just permanently tied to their data feeds every waking hour. Sounds like a self-made prison.

Yeah, thats what I am wondering. I wish this was clarified someone in the canon. It is like all of the sudden last I saw her she was the shadow broker andthen she is a scientist on mars again and doesn't even mention anything about being the shadow broker? What the heck?

Hmmm, that actually makes more sense to me than later on in the game when she more or less blurts it out that she is the shadow broker. I mean, she was a rather renowned (well, at least published) archeologist before getting the shadow broker and as such, she is on Mars. No need to tell the world otherwise, especially in front of Vega, whom she doesn't know and Ash/Kaiden, who's trustworthiness is still rather thin at that point of the game.
Also, you don't just "unlearn" to be a scientist in 2 and a half years after spending 50odd years on research.

Hmm, which leads me to my next assumption...she is  traitor!!! She knew the reapers were headed for Earth WAY before they got there....no warning? Conspiracy I say.

Shep can't have a real full beard.

Shep can't have a slickback, neck length hair.

Nearly all guns have two barrels.

SMGs' foregrips aren't utilized.

I can't tell Javik to STFU and know his place after calling me and my squad primitives or not using their names.

I can't tell Ashley to STFU.

Garrus no longer says "SCOPED and DROPPED!" or "I love this rifle."

Can't see the real Presidium or any other place from ME1 such as CSec Academy.

ME1/2 Ash dies whether or not she makes the sacrifice at Virmire.

Ned Beatty not voicing Mordin (>_>)

Drew K. didn't write Kai Leng for ME3 and thus we are left with Willy Ditz' version.

Not enough armor customization (choosing under armor material color)

This one seems weird, but the awkward underwear love scenes, because Rated M clearly stand for Minors. We aren't all children Bioware, at least I hope not.Image IPB

1. How when you are on E24, Purgatory, or the Embassies, the Huerta Memorial Hospital is completely missing (the "bridge" that is the hospital is gone, but the shadow it gives off is visible)

2. before the Citadel Coup, you can already see broken glass on the floor on the Presidium Commons in front of the C-Sec office window that doesn't get shattered until said mission

3. I don't get cabin items like my dog-tags, the Prothean Artifact, my N7 Helmet, etc from ME2 like I got my Space Hamster and Model Ships imported into ME3

4. how there is no cutscene of the Normandy leaving the Citadel's dock

5. The Normandy's Elevator door never opens... Wasn't until the Citadel DLC that I finally learned how the elevator door opened in ME3.

In ME1 they didn't wear it. I think that whole "controversy" Fox News had with it back in the day had something to do with underwear being required n 2 and 3

I loved that controversy. The woman Fox brought in to argue against it later said she hadn't even seen the scene and when she did, she thought it was handled rather tastefully.

I was disappointed how these things go missing while the other stuff like the models are still around. I can understand the Prothean artifact, since, after all, it's a Prothean sphere with who knows what kind of information on it, but it would've been nice to get everything else back in there.

4. how there is no cutscene of the Normandy leaving the Citadel's dock

I felt like one of the only ones to really miss stuff like this. I guess for sake of brevity of whatever, but having a scene showing the Normandy's departure is better than just having the floating in space load screen.

So you didn't play ME2? The elevator doors open there, and it's unchanged in 3. Only difference is that you actually ride it, which was a nice addition, since it brought back the elevator chatter one last time.

Though I have to say, I always wondered how a square elevator inside a shaft, in which it seems to fit pretty precisely can just turn around 180 degrees between the CIC and the crew deck and then again between the crew deck and engineering. Always thought that was weird.

Ah yes, Faux News. "we stir up controversies where there aren't any." My dad used to watch Fox News and yell at the TV. He flip off Bill O'Reilly and yell at him. It would drive my sister nuts. He was 97 then. That was 6 years ago. She finally got him to watch CNN and he calmed down a bit. Then he started falling asleep, and she could turn it off.

Oh, back on topic.

Not being able to drink and smoke in my cabin. Or sit anywhere. Shepard always has to stand. Can't buy a drink except in Purgatory. What did the anti-drinking na21s rule on this one? What about smoking? Why can't my Shepard smoke?

Why I didn't have a "renegade interrupt" to do "Ah yes, 'reapers'". That would have been wonderful. I would have loved that. About every person who played ME2 and saved the council would have taken that one with the Turian Councilor, and I don't care how Paragon they were. Tell me you wouldn't have and you're lying.

Yeah, I thought about that. The original Normandy had a sensible elevator that opened on both sides. Minor niggle in the end I guess, but they should've just kept that elevator the same.

Little things I wish I was able to do was have Shepard get hammered on the ship. And Julia, I agree about that "Ah yes, 'reapers'" interrupt. If that was in the game, it would be my other obligatory interrupt alongside breaking Kai Leng's sword and gutting him.

In ME3 whenever I would leave a planet to get back on the Normandy to go through my messages or talk to someone, I can't go back onto the planet or Citadel through the airlock.

No more elevator rides. :(

The change of controls from ME1 to ME2 still messes me up today, I prefer the ME1 controls.

As other people said, the War Room miffed me off to no end. It was out of the way and annoying to go to.

The Citadel seemed really closed off in ME2 and 3 compared to ME1. Maybe people complained about how open it was in ME1? I liked being able to just walk around and enjoy the scenery there.

Filed under 'Give me a break'
- Having to re-select ammo type at the beginning of every mission.
- No Heavy Weapons option.
- Lacklustre weapon mods system.
- Thanix Missiles? Failed MaGuffin. Doesn't work conceptually if you read the codex entry on the Thanix Cannon.

Filed under 'What were they thinking?'

- Diane Allers. Which 'slobbering dauphin' (Thanks Hitch) thought that was in any way shape or form a good idea for the tarnished image of the games industry or the MEU universe?
- Why a 'Blood and Guts' marine stereotype would be an interesting squadmate? Try reading 'With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa' by Eugene Sledge (aka "Sledgehammer"). Now that is a marine IMO.
- Space Battles I can't participate in.

just a few :)

This was something I really liked about ME1. When you dock, you actually dock. Returning to the ship doesn't automatically have you leave the location until you hit the galaxy map and actually pick a new system.

One more...and I admit that this one is really silly.

Bailey's Hair.

Why did they have to make Bailey look younger by changing his hair colour from grey in ME2 to 'fibrous redhead' in ME3?

One camp would say that his character might go for it given his promotion - 'old man's vanity'.

While another camp may say that it is slavishly bowing to the cultural obsession with youth and beauty.
